Gopher
Should be much more interesting this year than Artist-Artist-Artist or TSN-TSN-TSN awards. What's the frontrunner with critics? Argo has the best RT/MC scores but plenty of other films (Lincoln, SLP, Master, Les Mis) seem like they will get the 'passion' vote too. riczhang
NYFCC - Amour or SLP (SLP's probably the more likely one judging by what they normally go for. However, Amour fits the runner-up bill and I wouldn't be surprised if the NY critics go for it.)NBR - Argo (Duh!) LAFCC- AmourNSFC - Amour And, No. I don't think that The Master will get any love from the Major critics except for Director, and Actor. At all. It'll get nominated in best foreign film of course, but win? No.

Impact
Keep in mind:It is very rare for a film to win bp if they win either LA or NY.Though Les M. winning NY should be expected.

And then 2 art house films for runners up.
pieman
The Master, Amour, Argo are in the mix for the wins in these awards. However, don't forget Life of Pi, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Lincoln (think that will win NBR).

(Though if there are any pictures that are connected to Clooney, that'll win ) I think that the 2 biggest Critics season movie will be Argo and Amour. riczhang
Flight will win somewhere!Well it is Paramount so I wouldn't count out NBR for a big one. Or Oklahoma City Centre Critics Awards.
pieman
I don't think Argo will do that well critic-wise because I don't think it's good enough to gain their admiration. It would be unlike most films awarded best picture by critics.

Impact
Well I do expect Denzel, Hopkins, Lewis and Pheonix to pick up some actor wins, Affleck might even get one or 2. Also expect some people you have not heard of before.

Also expect some people you have not heard of before.Especially from the small critics groups. And Hopkins's movie is at a 56 on Metacritic right now, so I'm thinking we're probably gonna say goodbye to his chances at a nom. I'm still gonna go with Rachel Weisz for NBR as my NGNG. Jake Gittes
If A Separation, an equally acclaimed foreign film, didn't win any BP awards from critics last year, I'm not sure why Amour is supposed to do that without breaking a sweat, especially in a year with so many strong American films.
pieman
A Separation did come close with several groups. However, Amour is directed by a more renowned filmmaker and it won the Palme d'or plus it may be a weakish year for artsy critic films.
