Jake Gittes
Second-to-last, actually. His last is gonna be Animal Rescue: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1600196/reference I wouldn't say that lessens his chances this year, though. TLK
I agree. Supporting categories are usually where you can see sentimental favorites sneak in. James Gandolfini is recognized as a great TV actor who hasn't received his dues in movies. I can see AMPAS voters voting him in,
Impact
Yep, also it is quite a bit where they will give the honorary win. Such as Don Ameche (how much of his win was really for Cocoon?) or as seen 2 years ago-Christopher Plummer. (Auto correct kept on giving me Don Mach and Christopher Plumber )
Michael Gary Scott
Christopher Plummer deserved to win

baumer
Don't be surprised if Barhhad Abdi gets a nom for Muse in Captain Phillips. He's pretty great in the film.

CloneWars
Yah, I can see that guy getting a nom. I haven't seen the film, but in the trailers, he actually seems real and not someone that is acting.
BoxOfficeFangrl
Isn't a Abdi a co-lead? Not that that's ever stopped a supporting nomination before... Captain Phillips will be more seen much more than Bruhl in Rush, plus a better personal narrative (guy acting for years outshining Chris Hemsworth vs. limo driver plucked from obscurity going toe to toe with Tom Hanks at his best), so it could happen. Blankments
Call me crazy, but I think that if WB chooses to campaign in him in supporting (even though he's clearly a co-lead,) I feel like Gylenhaal could get nominated for Prisoners
Impact
I still think Hanks will be nominated here (Even if he seems more like a lead in Mr. Banks) And Bardem does seem likely still.

He's awesome in Prisoners.
ChD
Well, we can count Fassbender out since he stated he won't campaign for the Oscars again.
TLK
Phoenix didn't campaign either but he was still nominated. I think Fassy will get a nomination if 12 Years A Slave takes off.
Leyla
really rooting 4 Bruhl now seems like he's less likely now tho along with Gylenhaal & I dont see Fassy not being nominated with or without campaigning so now it looks like to me Leto Fassy Cap Phillips villain Bardem (or its just my wishful thinking ) Hanks/Farrell (yeah my wishful thinking again)))) Edited October 18, 2013 by Leyla
Blankments
Is it safe to say Fassbender is the frontrunner here?
RobinHood26
I think Leto, deserves it hands down. He steals every single scene in Dallas Buyers Club. Its ether him or Fass.

Is it safe to say Fassbender is the frontrunner here? Fassbender was the frontrunner until he said he wasn't campaigning, which takes him out of the race. Leto might get it, according to Mr. jay.
