grey ghost Posted February 23, 2013 Share Posted February 23, 2013 I don`t think that he was groomed well enough. They have never given him top notch movies to headline. No Cameron, Verhoeven, McTiernan, Millius on his resume. The action stars that he was supposed to replace had action classics on their resumes because those classics were made by bone fide great directors. To be fair, outside of Cameron, all those directors were out of the action movie business long before the Rock entered the Hollywood scene. But I see your point. The Rock is horrible at picking scripts unlike Bruce Willis, Arnold and Stallone during the 80's and early 90's. Those guys pretty much had ingenius career choices during their prime.
