Ariadne
Anything over 4 million would be great - 7 million would be
iceroll
Well HBO has 29 million subscribers so if a quarter of them watch GoT, that's 7 million.
Ariadne
Wow, I didn't know they had that many subscibers! Let's hope it's a big enough number to greenlight season 3.
pinocchio
They already did, if I understand it right. Season 3 and 4: According to the Belfast Telegraph, in March 2012, HBO ordered the production of a third and fourth season, which are to cover the third novel in the series, Thats from Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia....%28TV_series%
Ariadne
I don't see anything mentioning season 3 and 4 in the links you've provided? I think it's best to wait till HBO officially orders another season (or two).
pinocchio
Seems the Wikipedia entry was edited just hours ago. Here's the old version that mentions season 3 and 4:http://en.wikipedia....oldid=484312805

DeeCee
Yeah, I read somewhere as well that season 3 and 4 might be shot together.Anyway, starts Tuesday April 10 @ 8:30 on Showcase here in Australia however I'm not sure if I can wait over a week.http://showtime.com.au/showcase/show/13201/season2I thought season 1 was great although as others have mentioned it was slightly disappointing they weren't able to include any battles and the Dothraki weren't quiet up to scale. On the book front I am now half way through A Storm of Swords:Part 1. Ariadne
Here's the article from the Belfast Telegraph:http://www.belfastte...s-16132929.htmlI heard ages ago they would probably greenlight season 3 and 4 at once, this article is just speculation. Yes it'll probably happen, but until HBO puts out something official it's not news.
4815162342
It's more likely that Season 3 will incorporate about 60-65% of Book 3, going just past a certain event (because ending the season with that event would be like a dickpunch to audiences with effects lasting the whole wait, so having an episode of "resolution" afterwards would soften things a little bit). Season 4 therefore would use the rest of Book 3, and also incorporate elements of Books 4 and 5 (because those two books have concurrent chronologies, but in different places) that would set up the direction the next arc of the show goes (because Books 1-3 are one huge story arc, and Books 4/5 are the set-up for the second big story arc of the series). For example, one of the major regional storylines of Book 4 actually takes place mostly during the second half of Book 3. I refer to (Book 4 spoilers): The Iron Islands storyline with Balon's suspicious death, Euron's return, and the wave of events culminating in the Kingsmoot where Euron is proclaimed King and promises the lords that they can conquer all of Westeros, but first they have to acquire a certain trio of dragons. This entire plot happens during the timeline of Book 3 and would give Season 4 some extra bones and meat.

Yes it'll probably happen, but until HBO puts out something official it's not news.I guess it will be confirmed in April after season 2 started. The already have actors under contract and so on so it't rather obious they will go on. OR season two flops really badly and HBO has to pay a lot of money to buy out people from their contracts. 4815162342
Early reviews of the first 4 episodes are very strong, which is great to hear. One interesting bit of info is that Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) is now top-billed on the show. Best Actor at the Emmys here we go!!!
