dashrendar44
Off topic but Gary Ross, HG director totally looks alike the missing link between James Brolin and his son Josh Brolin. + = (Young James Brolin who totally looks like actual Christian Bale by the way)

fishstick
OMG, what a fiasco for the cameraman not to focus on that instead of some unimportant people walking down the stairs.

The Futurist
So now the rumor is that Serena is so bad that it is unreleasable ... Things like that never happen, do they ? I don't have any example of a story like that, very very bad films get released every year ... A movie cannot be that bad so people are afraid to release it ... The thing is a movie with two of the hottest actors of the moment shot in Spring 2012 without a distributor or release date is surprising to say the least so I guess people speculate ... It is very odd, Jlaw & Cooper spoke a lot indirectly & casually during their SLP promo tour about their other movie ( Serena) they did together right after SLP , Jlaw joking that there would soon be a box set with all the movies they made together ... Add to the weirdness of the situation, a press release just announced that Jlaw will produce her first/next movie based on a memoir called the rules of inheritance and the director is Susan Bier, who directed Serena ! So Jlaw & Bier were so happy with the crap they made with Serena they decided to do it again, that doesn't make sense ... Announced just two months ago by all the big trades : http://www.deadline.com/2013/06/hunger-games-jennifer-lawrence-attached-to-susanne-bier-directed-the-rules-of-inheritance/ Press release says : FilmNation Entertainment will executive produce. FilmNation’s Glen Basner and Aaron Ryder said, “We are thrilled to be working with the dream team of Jennifer Lawrence, Susanne Bier, Abi Morgan and Bruce Cohen. We have no doubt that this inspirational and hopeful book will be turned into an emotionally powerful movie that audiences around the world will fall in love with.” Producer Bruce Cohen commented, “Jennifer, Susanne, Abi and I are incredibly excited to be working on this extraordinary project together. We all believe this film can strike a deeply resonant chord with audiences, just as Claire’s riveting memoir has.” There s more, media reports just announced Susan Bier s next movie will be with Saoirse Ronan, it is announced as a possible project though ... If somedy has a theory on this mess, I am willing to hear it ...
rockNrollaDIM
I refuse to believe it. That project had big big stars and directors coming and going and ended up being made with big, big stars. So obviously the script must be some kind of excellent. Susanne Bier is an Oscar winner. It can't be that bad that they won't release it. Edited August 14, 2013 by aDIM
4815162342
There have been occasions where a film was so bad a studio decided to eat the upfront financial loss since it judged it would lose more money if it released it (via advertising and distribution being higher than gross). It's rare but it does happen, just never for the highest profile people. For example Red Dawn last year was very close to being never released. Cairo
It could be a total mess, but Kris Tapley was reporting last fall how people who had seen Great Gatsby said it was a total mess & missfire but I really liked the movie so I'm willing to wait for Serena to surface next year and if it still doesn't, then I believe it's unreleasable.
