Some fanboys do have their panties in a bunch over it. Check out this poll at SHH:

60 love it, 32 are "OK" with it, and 62 hate it. Very divisive issue on those forums.

Some news from OS as per Iron Olive...South Korea's Saturday is down just 14% on last weekend, and it opened over $19m!!! THAT is astonishing.

Iron Man 3's WOM will be solid but not spectacular. User scores on sites like RT and Metacritic are dropping

The furious fanboys are spamming 1 or 2 out of 10 ratings around the web, it's not reflective of actual real-world WOM

I expect solid WOM. Nothing Earth-shattering like TA but people are liking it for the most part

Only A+ and F actually mean anything, and even then it just means fans loved/hated it

CS means nothing because it`s given right after the movie ended without a moment of reflection. Therefore reactions are more extreme on both sides of the spectrum than they are when one spreads a WOM. WOM comes after reflection and is more level-headed than CS/twitter from the phone while waiting to exit. CS/twitter are not WOM.

Yes. And usually big explosiony action movies play stronger on the West Coast, whereas YA adaptations perform better on the East Coast. Which is why they've underestimated stuff like TF3/TA/IM3/etc by so much and overestimated stuff like DH2/THG/etc by so much

You'd think eventually they'd factor this in, but they're probably afraid to stick their necks out

From what I saw last night, shows were being added on the west coast in some area pretty late. It seems they don't account for that in their early estimates.  There's really no way to.
