This is an action movie... It should be entertaining, not Oscar bait so you can criticize every small thing that isn't close to reality. So long it entertained you, it deserves a higher grade in my opinion.

Maybe it didn't entertain him, which is why he gave it a D. Just because it's an action movie doesn't mean it's automatically entertaining. God knows there's been plenty of bad action movies to prove that.

Definitely with baumer on this one.  I was very pleasantly surprised by this.  I was hoping for something decent and it turned out to be really good for me.

 

Just the taking of the White House was pretty awesome.  Yeah totally improbable and impossible, but that's not the point of most action films since they almost are all like that.  However, that is part of the fun

 

I like how they at least made an attempt to show there was a relationship so you could care more about the characters.

 

Easily one of the better movies I have seen this year.  Yeah there hasn't been that many good films this year, but out of the 13 I have seen so far, it is near the top.  Plus it had a good cast

Excellent action movie. The pacing of the movie is fantastic. It never slows down. Very entertaining.

Saw it a second time. Loved it more.I have no problem with people not liking something that I do. I just think the reasons for not liking something are a little strange. It's cliched? The bad guys are cliched? Seriously? Movies are cliches. What reasons would you like the Koreans to have for this invasion. Globalization and the US fucking up other countries is not cliche. It's true. Would you like it more if they invaded the White House because they were after the secret gold bullion located in one of the tunnels?The reasons for doing what the bad guys do is really not that important, they are McGuffins, as Ebert calls them. It's the exectuion of the film that counts. And this one is frenetic from start to finish.

One of the best action movies to come out in the past few months. Sure, it was a rip-off of Die-Hard, but I don't care. After how bad A Good Day to Die Hard was, I wanted a good action movie to come out. This movie was tense, exciting, hard-hitting, and action-packed. Exactly what I liked in an action movie. What made the movie stand-out even more for me was how realistic this event could actually happen. This is what Die-Hard 5 should have been, instead of the piss-box central it turned out to be. There are a few nitpicks with the plot I have issues with, but this is a very good action movie.

 

B+
