That sounds exactly like when Emma did Cabaret. She was originally cast but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts and Michelle Williams took over. Later, Emma was able to take over for Michelle and even extended her run (she got great reviews and the revenues shot up during Emma's run).

I've noticed ever the last few months that Emma and Brie seemed to have become good friends and this seems to confirm it.
Brie posted this on her Instagram with the caption "
You know what's better than winning? Watching your friends win.
So Emma and JLaw are good friends, and now Emma and Brie. Could be a new Hollywood girl power group in the making.
Both beautiful and elegant.
I can't wait until Battle of the Sexes comes out so we can see "Starring Academy Award Winner Emma Stone" in the credits for the first time.
A bit disappointing, but it still took 2 of the 3 I was rooting for, including my personal favorite.
In order I was hoping for:
1- Best Actress (I'm such an Emma fanboy )
2- Best Picture
3- Best Director
So, as usual I can start watching about 5 minutes before the Awards show is supposed to end so I can watch the next 90 minutes or so to catch the major awards.
Japan is a really leggy market, Chicago made $27.4m there from a $2.355m opening there, but then again Mamma Mia made $27.6m from a $4.9m opening
I'd like a Les Miserables run, $62.09m off a $3.59m opening.
They seem to be in line with the betting sites.
I trust betting sites more than insiders and experts, they have no personal bias, it's just about the money, which tends to motivate them to be accurate.

The Academy announced on Saturday, the day before Oscar Sunday, that Greg P. Russell’s sound mixing nomination for “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” has been revoked for “violation of Academy campaign regulations.” Gary Summers, Jeffrey J. Haboush and Mac Ruth remain sound mixing nominees for the film.

BOM has Friday estimated up and a lot of them are slightly higher, but LLL is about 10% higher at $1.22m.

Edit- Whoops, quoted the wrong post, I meant to quote this:
La La Land (Lionsgate) 1,733 theaters (+146) /$1.1M Fri (0%)/3-day:$4.1M (-10%)/Total:$140.4M / Wk 12
It shouldn't be too bad, or if it is it won't last long. Unlike IMDB this board is moderated. IMDB was a free for all where for every well thought out post there were 9 trolls waiting to spew venom.
So, LLL looks like similar numbers to Mamma Mia and Chicago (both a bit over $27m). Not bad, but I was really hoping it would be more like Les Mis (a bit over $62m)
