  1. Neither did Episode I really "shatter records". It had the largest Wednesday and 5-day opening gross at the time and that's about it.
  2. Spielberg Nolan Tarantino Scorsese Cameron Coen Brothers J.J. Abrams Brad Bird Shyamalan Bigelow
  3. It'll be a squeeze for ZDT but it could have another Oscar bump which will help it reach $100m...
  4. Lincoln could have 42.5% drops from here on out and still hit $180m.
  5. Also, looks like 2012 will match 2009's total for most $100m grossers (32), assuming ZDT makes it which I think it will. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/yearly/chart/?yr=2009&p=.htm
  6. Argo has had the most impressive Oscar bump in recent history. I'm more impressed with it's legs than Lincoln and SLP. As I alluded to before, it will make $30+million after its weekends started dropping below $1 million!
  7. I think Phil Lord and Chris Miller are flying under the radar right now but will be big names after 2014. I enjoyed their first two directorial efforts. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was a movie that I surprisingly enjoyed and 21 Jump Street was entertaining as well not to mention made alot of $$. Their next film, Lego: Piece of Resistance I think will be a hit for the younger generation and the older nostalgic generation. They obviously have range so I'm hoping they get a chance to make a big budget picture after Lego. Keep an eye out on these guys....just watch.
  8. Under the Dome is a 13 episode summer series based on the stellar (IMO) thriller/horror novel by Stephen King. I am reading it right now for the 2nd time and I very much want this to turn out good. I know the script deviates a bit from the novel so I'm a little nervous that the powers that be will screw this up somehow. ha ha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_the_Dome_(TV_series)
  9. Smash is my guilty pleasure. No homo. How's the new season?
  10. I don't mind watching Netflix streaming videos on my iPhone. If what you're watching is engrossing you can forget how small the screen is.
  11. I never would have imagined Argo would gross $20 million after its weekends began dipping below $1m.
  12. According to Wiki, Greater Boston is tenth in population among U.S. metropolitan statistical areas in the United States, home to over 4.6 million people as of the 2010 U.S. Census. You can pretty much count that region out due to the epic blizzard. I believe NYC will be spared.
  13. I am loving the Planet Hulk/World War Hulk storylines. Makes sense although I wonder how they'll transition Hulk from a sympathetic character (Avengers 2/Hulk solo film) to the villain (Avengers 3).
  14. What if Yoda was the reason the Sith went into hiding. *drool*
  15. According to AICN, the first Stand Alone film is going to center upon YODA http://www.aintitcool.com/node/60757
  16. Besides the holdovers from the 1980s (Willis, Stallone, and Schwarzenegger) we don't have action stars. Statham, Diesel, and The Rock can't open big on their own so I don't include them. The action STAR is a relic of the Past. Wow.
  17. The boom mike slipping into the shot in Flight of the Navigator.
  18. No way Jessica Chastain should get Best Actress. Her performance was too understated to warrant a nomination IMO.
