  1. It doesn't look as good as Django, not nearly as commercial. The scope looks smaller as well. But Tarantino's name should bring business. Im going to say 22m OW/ 90m
  2. i dont think it makes sense to do two spin-off films before the Lego sequel. Takes away the anticipation and uniqueness. Can anyone explain to me why WB is waiting more than 4 years to release it?
  3. rest of august and mid September 8/13-8/15 Straight Outta Compton-45m The Man from uncle-19m 8/21-8/23 Sinister 2-16m Hitman: Agent 47-7m American Ultra 4m 8/28-8/30 We Are Your Friends-8m No Escape-6m 9/4-9/6 The Transporter Refueled-11m A Walk in the Woods-1m 9/11-9/13 Perfect Guy-15m The Visit-14.2m
  4. They probably signed a contract to appear in multiple films, so Im going to assume yes.
  5. Their biggest 'hit' for the year has been Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and that made 71m.
  6. Lots of minis have tried and fail. It's still too early to decide where STX is going to end up in a few years. Future releases include Secret in their Eyes, Free State of Jones, so atleast they are attracting some big name talent.
  7. The Gift actually beat expectations, should end up with 30m+ depending on legs. Good launch for STX entertainment. Ricki and the Flash had a meh opening, i dont think the marketing did it's job. MI:RN also unexpectedly hung onto 1st place, mot of the trades had F4 beating it. (even though many people here did the opposite) F4: nothing else to say about this. Total disaster for the studio.
  8. entertaining fun: jurassic world, mmxxl, rogue nation Good: inside out, spy Meh: ant man, terminator:genesyis That's all I saw this summer. only thing left to catch is Straight outta Compton.
  9. Stx is going to need all the luck they can get, Relativity tried to do what they are doing now with this mid-budget fare and failed.
  10. The only person that will be affected is Trank. All the actors are young enough to get out of this mess fine.
  11. they know ice cube and dr. Dre though. Ice cube had a successful acting career afterwards. Dr. Dre continued his prolific producing career.. forming the careers of snoop.dogg, eminent, and 50cent to name a few.
  12. yeah i think everything lived up to expectations for the most part. There were a few breakouts during every summer month. May: Pitch Perfect 2-I dont think anyone truly realized how big this fanbase was; it nearly tripled the gross of the first. San Andreas-no one was really checking for this film but it actually came in above tracking and 400m+ WW; proving that The Rock is an action-star draw. June: Spy-Everyone thought it would do well domestically but it's equally successful overseas, 232m WW and counting. Jurassic World: This exceeded even the most optimistic predictions. Total shocker of the summer. Inside Out-Most people thought Minions would take the animation crown easily, but synergy with Jurassic World proved to be critical in the peak of summer. July: Trainwreck-Exceeded expectations especially since it starred a relatively new comedian (Amy Schumer)
  13. it wouldn't be a movie unless SLJ is a part of the cast. He is in everything, literally.
  14. Yeah200m is the best case scenario for this. Needs to move away from the Sw spinoff though.
  15. Lawrence FIshburne in talks to join http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/laurence-fishburne-joining-jennifer-lawrence-813143?utm_source=twitter
  16. Damn. Vacation did horribly. I wonder what went wrong there? Its not like we've had alot of breakout comedies this summer.
  17. Greer needs a better agent if she wants good roles. She also needs a better publicist. I find it so funny that she was in all those movies and people still don't know who she is.
  18. Southpaw was the only thing that opened somewhat above expectations.Marketing seems to have hit the target audiences. This bodes well for Creed which has the better received trailer.
  19. So Paper Towns isnt TFIOS but it basically cost nothing to produce so they'll still make a pretty penny with it. The problem with Paper Towns is that i dont think the leads were charismatic enough. They need to cast someone like Dylan O' Brien for "Looking for Alaska".
