  5. With 4 new wide releases and expansions coming out within the next 5 days (on wednesday and friday), i really don't know how we can avoid the bloodshed. I only can see Frozen and newly released TH2 staying relatively unscattered. But Thor the Dark World, Catching Fire will, Out of The Furnace and Delivery Man will lose a great deal of theaters count as early as wednesday.
  6. BoxOffice ‏@BoxOffice 1m GLOBAL: THOR: THE DARK WORLD is up to $620M. First film made $446M. #Thor

  11. Any thursday numbers yet ? TH2 previews ? Is Rth around ?
  12. Sure it's feasible but it's far from being a lock even with late legs at this time of the year. Late legs usually put grosses on a flat stage from the previous week more than of a major increase or decrease. CF will need to majorly increase daily to reach that 30+M during hollyday seasons, meaning it will basicly need to have week 6 and week 7 bigger than week 5, not just flat, but bigger.
  13. Here is the deal. On weekend 5 IM3 reached $385.2 M. CF is likely to finish somewhere between $367 - $370M. 2 weeks later, which corresponds to CF holliday seasons, IM3 finished with $399.7 M on weekend 7. So the question, is will CF be able to reach $400M (on weekend 7) at the end of the holliday seasons, meaning grossing $30+M after weekend 5 to have a decent shot to pass IM3 final gross ? That's the question !

  18. I said earlier $390 - $420M. I stick to that. I think it has already grossed tremendously in markets where it grossed big. I don't see it improving by another $100M from there with The Hobbit and Frozen en route to do gangbuster business, halting its progress in their process.

  22. Yes, Hobbit2 will hit hard all the movies on its way bar animate. I was looking at the Hobbit1 overseas number and the specific results country by country are mindblogging from one market to the other, from small markets to big. If The Hobbit1 could reach around and over $80M in both Germany and the UK, $40+M in 4 big markets like France, Australia, China and Russia...hell, $30M in Spain, 20M in Italy and Sweeden and go great in small countries like Belgium ($8+M)...imagine how lethal its successor could end up ? It has the potential to replicate and rise a little bit everywhere while breaking through in China or Japan to reach the likes of $800+M. Those German and UK numbers are mindblogging. Everything released in those countries will be hit hard. TH2 will crush everything on its way overseas and cruise into the hollydays as the absolute favourite.
  23. It could hit or approach $600 M ww this weekend if the weekend OS gross is decent and hold better after CF OW.
