as far as i can gather it means that frozen is going to closely match MUs opening 2day weekend... that is pretty impressive since MU opened on a saturday and frozen on a friday which means frozens saturday numbers would have been deflated by that.
please somebody in the know correct me if i am wrong
right... sorry for reading that into your post... since previous posts were talking about the NFS movie and Resident Evil i assumed that we were talking about adaptions
oh, and yeah regarding WiR... i love that one
yes, but it is not a video game adaption... the characters in WiR know that they are video game characters...
rotten tomates actually has a list of video game adaptions
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/guides/best_video_game_adaptations/
though i actually would not count their number one since its also strictly speaking not an adaption.
yeah... had a good run (the initial weekends were really spectacular )
btw, just stumbled across this article on the hollywood reporter... seems like ppl in the states just realized that Frozen was so successful in SK

I think they planned it as a kind of multi franchise starter and for that to work it probably was supposed to be really huge... which it was not really...
yes it does not look bad... and to those that think it looks cheap... i think the overall design is pretty cartoony, but the animation is top notch. The art design isnt bad as well... though choosing this very cartoony look might not really attract too much attention from the general audience which could be a problem... i certainly dont wish for this to fail terribly since that would mean that animation studios will further shy away from relatively expensive productions.
i kind of like the prince of egypt as well since it is visually really impressive
He just has to find another struggling animation studio with a long and successful history to make fun of... maybe he could just spin off another company and start making fun of DWA?
pretty sure its going to be between your two estimates so for me the safest bet would then be $90M
btw, are there any estimates for Frozens final gross in China? (to keep this at least somewhat on topic )
Anybody know what the budget for Peabody was? Something in Legos ballpark or more along the line of previous DWA pictures? Anyways, LEGO is going to be really profitable for WB... doubt Peabody & Sherman can come even close (even if it was on a lower budget which i doubt)
The way George Clooneys character in gravity dies... his relative velocity with respect to the space station was already reduced to zero and still something pulled him away... that kind of breaking physical rules for the sake of melodrama nearly killed the movie for me
