Weekend Thread: Weekend estimates pg 38...BP 41.14....WIT 33.31

I don't see it. Bunch of teens/twenty-somethings. Tomb Raider could surprise, but I wouldn't bet on that. -

Theres a new version of the Incredible Hulk, "Incredibly Awesome Hulk" or something, and the human alter ego is an Asian kid. -

Another Panther "miracle" win next week? Tomb Raider...hmmm...if it gets the standard 20-25M That non-CBM releases average these days, it's got NO shot. But if it can lure enough of the guys away from Panther, and take it up to the high 30's and low 40's, that SHOULD do it. It's just too close to call right now. But it's late Friday, and the analysts are telling me that Tomb Raider is beating Panther by 1.5 million...😂...and sure to win the weekend...come on... If I was a betting man, the next heavy hitter is Ready Player One. Panther remains #1, dominating these weak mid-20's releases until it gets smashed by Ready Player One. -

What a shock 😂...Black Panther defied estimates for the 4th weekend in a row, and miraculously beat A Wrinkle in time! Who da thunk it 😂! -

Yeah, Black Panther has "miraculously" exceeded estimates every weekend, to the point that's it's not that miraculous anymore 😂. I got Panther winning the weekend by a nose. -
RAMPAGE | 13 April 2018 | Warner Brothers | Dwayne Johnson

Laughable competition insures satisfactory numbers the first two weeks, before it's smashed by Infinity War, thrown in the trash and forgotten :). -
-The leader of the outcast tribe, that T'Chala beats, in the throne challenge, at the beginning? He's the MCU incarnation of Man-Ape? He's wearing fury animal hide later in the movie, that makes him look like the comics villain. His tribe must have been terrified of him. After you get your rear end handed to you, your foes among the tribe, that feared you, are supposed to be emboldened to try a coup :). Didn't happen...they needed to show him beat down an attempted coup :). -the little sister, the gadget girl, was a little too goofy... -the bald military leader? She was badass. She could whip Panther's behind :)! -the CIA actor? Mailed it in. Seemed bored. -people got excited by Jordan's street slang, but I wouldn't call him the best villain of the MCU. Calm down :). It's still Loki and Hela. -It was a self contained story...it's a Russo Universe (RCU; Cap, Bucky, Falcon) spinoff movie, but that has nothing to do with this film. I expected a Cap cameo, Falcon...just Bucky, in the ending post credit. -Marvel Studios is getting less lazy about doing CGI animation work in the non-Avengers movies. They would keep their solo movies down to costumes and paint, with post production green screen work. The CGI rhinos was a surprise.

Weekend Prediction thread 5/3-5/5 Play the Derby

The Death Wish movie 😂...automatic low RT score...the housewife in distress role is not cool in this current feminist climate 😂. -
I change my mind after seeing Death Cure. Very emotional conclusion, that SHOULD have some legs. I like Marvel films, but this wasn't a Marvel film :). Real stakes. Dylan O'Bien was my new Peter Parker, back when Sony fired Garfield. Movie star, chick magnet looks, chemistry with female co-star. They went another nerdy route :).
