I guess I'm confused about this series - I never expected a sequel - I just figured the characters would interact in all the new movies they announced. -

I'm excited for this - grew up watching them play & I think Shia is a great actor no matter his off-screen antics. -

Latin America seems to love horror movies. -
Loved the trailer - me & my sons are gonna go see this when it opens.

Let me just say that I am not a Sci-Fi fan & I'm a big chicken at horror movies. My Mom wanted to see this movie badly but my Dad would not go so she took me & my friend along with her. I was tense from the get-go - was grossed out when the alien was stuck on John Hurt's face & when the alien popped out of his stomach I was truly horrified & sickened - I ran into the lobby for a bit to calm down. It's not my cup of tea but it was brilliant - I really don't think I was that nervous, sickened & tense at a movie since. I also loved the fact that Sigourney Weaver was so kick-ass in it - not often that a woman was the hero & lone survivor back then. I still have trouble watching it when my husband or sons do - so intense.

Saw all the movies on Tele's list - just a couple that I saw that year that I also liked: Angel Heart with Mickey Rourke, Robert DeNiro & Lisa Bonet Tin Men with Richard Dreyfuss & Danny DeVito The Believers with Martin Sheen The Big Easy with Dennis Quaid & Ellen Barkin Barfly with Mickey Rourke & Faye Dunaway - this one stuck with me - so different Baby Boom with Diane Keaton & Sam Shephard Wish You Were Here - British film set during WWII And just a little trivia - was trying to get home from work - had to walk thru Times Square - it was a madhouse - was the premiere for Who's That Girl - saw Madonna.

I've been watching the Oscars since the late 70s & it was just awful. Moonlight had it's moment in the sun ruined & the people who worked on LaLa Land have to give back the trophies - just a friggin mess. I guess Warren didn't know what to do but why not just say "I was given the wrong envelope" - I still can't laugh at this - just embarrassing.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Catty replied to baumer's topic in Review That Movie! (Spoilers Allowed)
I don't know about that - I'm 51 & I loved it - my sister loved it & most of my friends did too. I really enjoyed this movie - thought Leo was fabulous & cannot believe he didn't win the Oscar. Jonah Hill was perfection & who really cracked me up though he wasn't in it much was Rob Reiner. Just a great movie with great performances that kept me interested till the end. -
Agree with other reviews - wasn't much meat to the story - wish we had the story of these two brothers & how one becomes a criminal & one becomes a successful politician - what kind of childhood produces that?? I love Johnny but I found him very distracting - those blue eyes & white face was just jarring to me - brought me out of the movie alot - wish they would have used an actor more Irish looking naturally. Joel Edgerton played his role very well because I hated him with a passion. Great cast but not much for them to do - wish we knew more about Dakota Johnson's character & her relationship with Whitey - this just seemed to not have any emotion. Shame because I was really looking forward to this one.

We left our homes & went outside & made our own entertainment - we were not starved for entertainment because we were too busy having fun! I know people nowadays don't think it's possible but we had a blast without any internet or video games or DVDs or cable - people were much more social because of it.
