How did Luke, who was never off planet, pilot an x-wing and hit a 1 meter target using the force? How did Anikin, at 5 years old, win a pod race? 1) Ren was not a sith load... he is not fully trained and was emotionally unstable. He was also wounded. ( which they made sure to let us know with that weird pounding of his side ) 2) Finn got his ass kicked when using the lightsaber 3) They established that Rey could fight before she had the lightsaber... and she was getting her ass kicked until she used the Force... much like Luke against the deathstar Not comparable at all. Luke had Obi Wan. And we dont talk here about some special abilities. Yes, some are instinctual. But this is battle training. The movies and books clearly established that. And the fact that Ren was hurt doesnt excuse him lacking skills like that. He was the one that decimated the new Jedi Luke was training and nade him go into exile. He's supposed to be stronger than a newbie.

Finally saw it. I liked it for the most part. In fact, it would've been a great movie if not for one thing. But first things first. I loved the new characters and the old ones. The acting was solid, the dialogue was okay (few cliche lines but no big deal, much better than the other movies), the effects were good and the overall direction was great. The soundtrack was better in the PT. My huge huge issue was Ren and the general jedi/sith/lightsaber duels and powers. I havent read anything in this thread and I'd like to know if anyone had the same issue. I know they wanted to distance themselves from the prequels, but the battles were completely unspectacular and besides that Ren was pathetic. How did Rey, a completely untrained person in the ways of the force defeats a Sith lord. And before her, Finn, freakin Finn, actually hurts Ren in a lightsaber duel. After we see Anakin in the PT and everything he can do Ren seems like a joke. Also, it completely contradicts the SW lore. The story of Han and Leia's son turnin evil is taken from the Legacy of the Force series mostly, but they failed to make Ren a credible threat in any way. The overpowered Rey and severly weakened Ren. Also, Ren feels when Han arrives on the planet, but fails to do the same thing when he is metres away... And the Snoke part... oh man... Overall it was a good movie, but similar to Marvel, the bad guys were disappointing to say the least. If I was to compare it to the other movies, it would be no. 2, behind ROTS for me. 7/10 Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

It is a record in lc and USD. But yeah, adm wise, which is usually how the records are counted here, it fell short.

Ok. Just saw SW. Have a lot of thoughtson it. Will write a review soon with the reaction of my audience. Also, SW broke the OW record here in USD and lc, but the adm record is still held by FF7. Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

Aha not at all! I love Harry Potter, but records are there to be broken so technicalities are irritating [emoji14] Not that record. And it's not really a technicality. When we talk about 3-day weekends we talk Fri-Sun. It's like that in all markets, not only in the UK. It's general BO knowledge. Disneys fault it didnt open on Fri.

AMAZING. That would push it nearer to £34m and easily over $50m if that holds. And could take DH2's insignificant Friday-Sunday record despite burning off almost £10m of demand on Thursday. [emoji38] Butthurt much?[emoji14] Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

BOM and other sites are reporting that SW set a new OW record here. I am so curious about this since no BO site here is reporting that and it's sales didn't even seem to be close to FF7, which holds the record. And since all the records listed by BOM are in lc, I'm really stoked to see how many adm it sold. We'll have to wait for tomorrow to see any results at all. Big big day today here for SW. It may actually be SW biggest day. Also, the new theatres built by the main theatre chain in key cities are striving. I expect one of the biggest OW's ever. The number of showtimes this gets is insane, even though the number of sellouts is not out of this world. I hope it does very well. We had a very good year. 2015 is already the biggest year ever in admissions, local currency and Euros, but for now it is a bit behind 2014 in USD because of the exchange rate (-4 or 5%). The last two weekends of the year and the first weekend of the new year are ALWAYS the biggest for cinema business. Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

If this doesnt beat Avatar with thid kind of weekend then I dont know what will. Just finished reading this thread. Was a lot of work. And cant wait for tomorrow, both to see the movie and what OW it had here. Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

JAPAN BOX OFFICE | Demon Slayer breaks all time record for OW
James replied to Corpse's topic in International Box Office
Does this have any chance of matching DH2's 21.9m OW? Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk- 23,667 replies

The only territories from the ones posted there where SW7 opened higher than DH2 in USD are Sweden and Germany. All these records are in lc. DH2 opened with 14.8m in the UK, 5.3m in Germany (only previews), 7.5m in Australia, 6.1m in Mexico, 4.6m in Italy, 4.1m in Russia, 4.4m in Brazil and 2.1m in Sweden.

You guys were right. I'll eat my crow. 57m in previews is fuckin unbelievable. Good job SW. Cant wait to see it on Monday. Also, is it worth it to read the last 70 pages? Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk

Yeah, but I doubt Fox really cares at this point. It's truly hilarious that this is bigger OS than 99% of today's movies. For example, I am pretty certain that this will be the highest grossing movie in my country next year (the last two IA movies are both in Top 10 All Time).
-
No. And judging from the OD in a few countries is irrelevant anyway, particularly for a movie with a huge part mostly waiting for the weekend to watch it. Maybe it's not your case but most people work on weekdays or are in classrooms. Sorry to burst your bubble.... Lol, what do you mean no? Check where the prequels made most of their money from before starting an argument with no evidence. And OD reflect a lot because most contries have the same OD for all movies. So if by comparison TFA is weaker than it is weaker and thats it.
-
Anyone expecting this to top or even come close to DH2's OS OW is crazy. TFA is behaving exactly as the prequels, which I have been saying for months. Just like the PT is doing big business in western EU, Aus and Japan. But Asia doesnt seem to get touched by the hype (take a look at SK, HK and India and seeing the China schedule I doubt it will catch fire there also) and Latin America has huge ER problems. Russia has the same huge issue. And the reast of the Eastern Europe is parted between good and only acceptable results. And even among the western states like France or Italy, the results are nowhere near record breaking. Trimis de pe al meu SM-J100H folosind Tapatalk
