    No summer weekdays, movie length a little too long - reduced repeated viewers, and a lot of adult skewing competition didnt help. However it is still 20m ahead of the 3rd film, and weekend numbers are similar. 5th weekend hold for the 3rd film is strong, which I think the 4th cant match. Overseas its a different story though, seem to be outperforming the 3rd film everywhere I checked. I mean there's Donnie Yen in this... so huge appeal here in Asia.

    @titanic2187 I must be mistaken or confused then; cause I was referring to the figures from Issac Newton where OD of JW4 was behind III.

    I think Air and JW4 will surprise and move up in ranking. A little too high for Mario..

    Where do we theater counts for the weekend for holdovers? With so many new wide releases.. Not sure how many theaters JW4 and D&D can maintain.

    One of the rare countries where it might not outgross the 3rd movie, legs will be cut by Mario after 2 weekends..

    Same period where Mulan decided to be on D+ premiere access and get pirated worldwide. What a waste..

    But Paramount did spend a lot more on marketing for D&D it seems... WB didnt seem to spend a lot of money or effort for Shazam.

    Haven't seen international numbers for the weekend.. Might have been killed by Mario overseas..

    Tough because of Mario's performance I see holdovers losing screens rapidly as exhibitors try to capitalise on Mario's popularity. Already saw John Wick losing 200+ theaters on Friday.

    Not sure how big John Wick is in Korea, but it opens only 2 weeks before Mario. They do have 2 Japanese actors in this one so hopefully Japan is good. But Japan only opens in September i think..?

    Let's hope actual comes in higher. If it can stay at no. 2 every weekend till guardians; as good counter programming for Super (breakout) Mario Bros; then 200m domestic and 400m worldwide should be in reach.

    If the Last of Us was made into a movie instead of the series - with the same cast.. Would have done well. But now that.a series is out, novelty factor is gone.

    Wonder who will be no.2 this weekend - D&D or JW4..

    Think 200m still possible, need to see how this weekend and subsequent weekends hold. No big films coming up till Guardians 3 so still hopeful.

    i know John Wick: Chapter 4 opens next week. When is Mario opening?

    Keanu Reeves + Donnie Yen - can never go wrong. still have Easter Weekend to go. Doing freaking well in Southeast Asia; Indonesia, Msia, Singapore etc - Donnie Yen is a mega star here.

    Movie's length and loss of PLF this weekend didn't help.. Hope it stabilizes next weekend..

    Hollywood films only? Ip Man 4 should be there I think and other HK films.

    John Wick 4's weekend drop a little steeper than I thought. Felt that due to the longer runtime, the weekend jump would be better; but guess the loss of PLF and bad weather in some states didn't help.

    Circa 4x legs? Gonna be tough; especially noting Mario is coming out on Wed.
