  1. Transformers didn't do so with much better XR (Of course it had much less from NA, too, but BatB should do more OS excluding China...
  2. Yeah, the biggest threat for BatB isn't a newcomer, it is the weather - so is Germany... I hope that 30%-drop won't get worse so it can have at least 1,7M admissions on Sunday...
  3. Is this a good OW for BatB? It seems to be only the 4th best start of 2017... But I think it is the 2nd best among Disney-LiveAction-Fairytales. I found these OW-numbers: 96k for TJB, 107k for Cinderella, 140k for Maleficent and 240k for Alice. So BatB at least stopped the trend coming close to Alice again (I forgot to include Alice2: 58k/77k with previews included )
  4. Deadline: The overseas Monday of $21.9M on BATB reps 12% of the weekend’s $182.3M. That’s a stronger hold than would normally be expected for a family film — and also comes with most markets not on holiday. Putting it into some more perspective, last year’s The Jungle Book had a first Monday that was 10% of its launch frame. And, while we’re at it — and though it’s not an apples-to-apples comp — Disney/Lucasfilm’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in December did 13% of its opening weekend on the first Monday. Yesterday, offshore markets were led by China with $4.7M to rep 11% of the weekend ($49.5M cume to date). Mexico — where the Benito Juarez birthday holiday fueled a massive 32% of the weekend — followed with $3.8M ($15.6M to date). The UK added $2.2M for 9% of the opening session ($26.6M to date), Brazil saw a rosy $1.5M (14% of the weekend/$12.6M to date), and Korea voiced another $1M (10% of weekend/$12.8M to date). Germany ($10.2M), Italy ($8.6M), Russia ($7.1M), the Philippines ($6.8M) and Spain ($6.6M) round out the Top 10 totals so far.
  5. Yesterday, offshore markets were led by China with $4.7M to rep 11% of the weekend ($49.5M cume to date). Mexico — where the Benito Juarez birthday holiday fueled a massive 32% of the weekend — followed with $3.8M ($15.6M to date). (Deadline) How big is that for Mexico? If $11,8M were that big already that must be huge!
  6. Should such an OW lead to at least $30M and R$100M? I don't know how leggy Brazil is... Is a 3x multipler often reached?

  8. Great drop for Kong! (-29%/-32%) I think Godzilla had nearly a 60% drop in its 2nd weekend (that's a huge drop in Germany, much more than it is in the US). Logan falls a bit harder with about 40%. FSOG2 too >40%. Great for Moonlight too! Without previews it equals its OW (included it's down 20%) And this weekend is about 40% above last year
  9. So Disney says it made $10,7M OW. If that's correct and its Ticket Price is 10,5 and XR is about 1,075 than BatB should have made more than 900k, more like 950k... I hope this number is rather too low like it is in the US
  10. BatB is already the third highest grossing movie worldwide - one week more and it will be 1. for sure... Absolutely insane
  11. It will probably have a higher OW (admissions) in Italy than in Germany It could still have a weekend of $9M and probably more than $30M finish. In Germany it's often about legs. I hope the falling trend isn't because of bad WOM but because of not being a movie that targets families that much... 800k is still great, what is so annoying is that no movie here breaks out as it does in countries like Britain... Maybe Sunday evening will be stronger than prediced now and it can at least top 847.356 (FSOG2)...
  12. 2nd Trend: BatB 950k (still not safe, Saturday and Sunday occur after this trend!) So for the moment about $10M OW. Kong 175k (-38%/-40%) Logan 125k (down from 150k yesterday) -37% B&T 125k (up from 100k yesterday) -32% FSOG2 75k (-43%) Häschenschule 75k Moonlight 60k (-9%/-28%) Lego Batman 32,5k (-35%) La La Land 27,5k (-56%) Seems like BatB is direct competition to Musicals (La La Land) and Kid's movies (B&T, LB)
  13. To bring this to an end for me too: You're right when you say western media an politicians are very anti-russian. Some the criticism is just exaggerated. But making BatB a R-rated movie seems a bit exaggerated too... (Again I did not see the movie yet) You're right too when you say that this topic is too big for such a thread...
  14. Gay propaganda for me would be something like: "Become gay because it's so much better than not to be! Not being gay sucks!" I didn't see the movie yet but I don't think this "gay moment" is too strong, maybe not more than a glance (I'll know soon) - hardly gay propaganda. In my opinion it is something natural (it occurs in nature) and as long as nobody is harmed - what's your problem? I think it's a good progress to take people as they are (as long as they don't harm anybody). "Naive liberals, never question why their governments are completely silent apropos regimes such as those of the GCC" That is wrong - there is a movement against these countries in the population but we have a government that doesn't want gay marriage so it's not too liberal in this issue... I think there's nothing wrong with a law which limits "the exposure of young children to homosexual imagery" in any case. And I don't know how much Off-Topic-Talk is OK, so: Seems like an OK-start with this rating?
  15. Today was by far the best day of the year here. Weather will become worse tomorow and especially on Saturday. I hope Saturday will be massive I would say the biggest start for a Disney Remake is coming: 600k - 1M? 543.814 698 452 BatB Alice 460.078 659 The Jungle Book 359.239 525 Maleficent 274.484 514 Cinderella

  18. Deadline: Fox’s Logan leapt a massive $6.5M in Sunday finals at the international box office. Now beasting out with a $159M offshore bow, the Wolverine threequel has a global total through Sunday of $247.3M. It has also become the biggest R-rated overseas opening ever, topping Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s 2015 haul of $156M.
  19. Less than 10% down for B&T! A great drop. Less than 30% drop for FSOG2 - this has great legs in Germany... Hidden Figures again with a great 15% drop. Moana stays flat - what a run! I hope those drops will hold. Today weather seems to be quite well all over Germany, but tomorow is predicted to be worse.
  20. Just for the drops: 1 670.027 -23 1.794.410 2 Alibi.com 2 483.575 --- 483.575 1 Split 3 449.126 -25 3.904.117 4 Raid Dingue 4 380.409 -13 3.078.646 5 Sing 5 353.114 --- 353.114 1 Lion 6 319.155 -49 2.730.484 3 FSOG2 7 279.769 -44 909.773 2 Rock n Roll 8 211.318 -6 2.270ö.509 5 La La Land 9 170.631 +1 871.208 4 Sahara 10 166.529 --- 166.529 1 John Wick 2 France is such a great movie market - I just realized that they now have 4 weekends in a row with more than 3M admissions! That's not really often in Germany...
  21. With Monday numbers most of the movies are stable. Seems like B&T4 opened on par with B&T3 (452k) including previews. But the fourth part has about 20k more admissions from previews. The really good weather hurt this one... Recep Ivedik 5 is up to 135k (-26%) - seems leggy for a Turkish movie. La La Land 72,5k (-12%) Vaiana, as the twelved movie of the last year, crossed 2M admissions with 30k on weekend, down 33%.
  22. 3rd Trend: B&T 450k FSOG2 300k (-51%) JW2 150k (-34%-45%) RI5 125k (-32%) Lego Batman 100k (-40%) ~600k Better weather probably hurt many movies...
  23. I think it's from A cure for wellness.
