You've misinterpreted what I wrote, it's my fault for not making it clear but you made the assumption I was talking about TFA/TLJ, I was talking about TPM/AoTC. The fans didn't like TPM & AoTC and there was massive backlash which leads to my point. The sequel trilogy and the prequel trilogy can't be compared to one of other in terms of expectations coming into the second film, with TFA being viewed as extremely well received by everyone. All I'm saying is that people should stop using one of the worst sequel drops of a popular franchise of all time in Attack of the Clones to justify The Last Jedi's performance, it's going to finish with less than 0.5A for Pete's sake! Shrek (2001) and Shrek 2 (2004) $484m to $920m. The Avengers (2012) and Age of Ultron (2015) $1.51b to $1.41b. Spiderman (2002) and Spiderman 2 (2004) $822m to $784m. Sorcerer's Stone (2001) and Chamber of Secrets (2002) $975m to $879m. Toy Story (1995) and Toy Story 2 (1999) $374m to $497m. Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and Two Towers (2002) $869m to $923m. Ice Age (2002) and Ice Age Meltdown (2006) $383m to $661m Hobbit Journey (2012) and Hobbit Smaug (2013) $1021m to $958m Thor (2011) and Thor TDW (2013) $449m to $645m. Iron Man (2008) and Iron Man 2 (2010) $585m to $624m. Batman Begins (2005) and TDK (2008) $373m to $1.00b. Transformers (2007) and Revenge of the Fallen (2009) $710m to 836m. Pirates Black Pearl (2003) and Dead Man’s Chest (2006) $654m to $1.06b. These are not cherry picked, they're the most popular franchises and they don't perform like AoTC and TLJ.

That's extremely hopeful for the American's broadband infrastructure.

Watched Darkest Hour tonight, it's decent and the cinema was packed. I can see this doing well.

I was under the impression that the venture stars design what was allowed it to get to Pandora so fast, 90% of the ship is made solely for getting the ship to close to lightspeed. On the right hand side of the ship in this image, the yellow red and pink areas are where the cargo and crew is. They have seven in these in constant loop from Earth to Pandora and back. If they were to bring a military ship, it may take 2x,3x,4x,5x as long to get to Pandora which is 4.37 light years away. Also who is to say they even have giant military ships, the year is 2154, I don't think large scale space combat is even a thing yet. Although I could see having a bombardment space craft orbiting the earth and destroying all of another countries satellites would be extremely beneficial in a World War, that space craft would only be designed for orbiting earth though. So I think if they were to bring a military ship with the intention of conquering Pandora, they would first have to design and build it. Which could take 3 to 10 years or more, then there's no guarantee that ship will be able to travel at the speed of the Venture Star. My line of thinking was they could use the existing Venture Stars to amass a relatively immediate force, it would be cool if they were building the Sulaco though. Also Jim does love spectacle.

Prediction, one of Polyphemus's other moons will operate as a forward headquarters for the Humans so they can amass a big enough army get that unobtainium.

Still lagging behind R1 it seems. -
Pretty old but I knew I read somewhere that extra planets will be explored. It's pretty obvious he doesn't mean earth.

Any less than a $3b world wide prediction will be an insult to Jim's handwork on Avatar 2, his past achievements and the man's vision!
