  1. I like how it says one of the top ten films of the year. Not exactly an achievement in January .

The NZ gross was pretty remarkable. I've said it before, but it's worth taking a look at. It was a fun one to watch; it just kept going and going and going. It beat every Hollywood blockbuster last year.
  3. I was gonna make one but a: I forgot and b: it had such a limited release in NA so it never really showed up on any of the charts. Thanks for making the thread though! It deserves that RT award. The BOM main page for it doesn't show the foreign gross for some reason though.
  4. They're more lax about it in New Zealand. Been in with it like 20 times this year and not once have they asked to search it.
  5. I only buy popcorn when I go with friends or if I go with my parents (who pay for the popcorn because I'm cheap). Going to the cinema ends up being pretty cheap for me when I take away concessions, and I've literally never been stopped from bringing food in, although it is almost always in my backpack.
  6. Great list or it would be if you had Hunt for the Wilderpeople on it! I definitely feel you on the Finding Dory front.
  7. One dudes argument is that less people watch The Crown. Can't please everyone! All the shows that were up for it were great imo, but I'm glad that The Crown won.
  8. https://www.reddit.com/r/westworld/comments/5mv60w/how_did_the_crown_beat_westworld_for_a_golden/ Let the salt begin. The Crown totally deserved it though.
  9. I'm on data and at work so I can't watch a stream but I appreciate ya'll keeping me in the loop. I'll need a few more meltdowns though to keep me entertained.
  10. I really liked it; Woody Harrelson was hilarious. Theatre wasn't that full though; only at about 30% capacity or so. Was a really nice day though so that might have taken some business away.
  11. Went and saw Edge of Seventeen and Arrival today. The theatre for Arrival was packed. Easily 85% full. Can't say what it's like in the States but if it mirrors this, they made a mistake pulling it from so many theatres. This was one of only 4 showtimes or something across the whole of Auckland.
  12. Hadn't seen this posted in the thread, but it's probably my favourite picture I've seen all year.
  13. I think the only explanation is that they have a really, really overzealous intern. Going above and beyond the call of duty.
  14. I'm surprised I'm not on this list lmao.
  15. Biggest is Through the Looking Glass right? That was about 700M. Avatar could drop 788M and still be over 2B.
  16. It's crazy to think that this could have the biggest ever drop between sequels and still make 2 billion. To be honest though, I think this might only squeak past a billion (which is still nothing to scoff at). Everyone I've talked to about it kind of just doesn't give a shit about it anymore. I am looking forward to it though, I did enjoy the first.
