  1. It's funny because I don't think he's even naturally suited for the action hero stuff. He strikes me as more of a Tom Hanks everyman than a Tom Cruise action star and if he can find the right project to tap into that Hanks energy, he can truly be a crossover star. The action stuff is obviously working on some level and proving insanely lucrative for though. The Astaire biopic sounds lame but maybe I'm biased against biopics. I don't know what musicals are in development right now but every studio exec trying to make one should be calling him up and offering him a role. I can easily see a West Side Story with Holland instead of Elgort making 10x what it actually made.
  2. The twist in Red Notice is that the Rock is married to Gal Gadot and they kiss a few times in that. It was a little like watching two dolls smushing their mouths together though. For such a manly man, the Rock feels weirdly sexless to me.
  3. Holland is a legit draw IMO, at least internationally. May need another hit under his belt to truly cement that domestically. He needs to find his La La Land. How's that Wicked movie doing casting its Fiyero?
  4. I agree, the video game backgrounds took me out. Sometimes it seems like CGI is actually regressing instead of getting better in these movies. It's not even like all the studio filming was cheap. I find it hard to believe that filming on location would've been more expensive than $90m.
  5. Twitter's dunking on Gal Gadot continues to make no sense to me. Sure she can be a little wooden sometimes, but not any moreso than any other actor in this movie. She is legit charismatic IMO.
  6. Is it a crossover with Will Smith or with Hemsworth. Don't know if Will would do it, but Hemsworth would
  7. Opening weekend for Uncharted isn't even over yet and people are already predicting an Uncharted 2 flop lol
  8. Huh? He hasn’t led another non-streaming film except Chaos Walking which was dumped at the height of the pandemic with no marketing and which he himself refused to promote. Uncharted is his first real test as a leading man and it seems he’s going to pass it. A good RT score always helps and bad RT scores have sunk countless would-be franchise starters (Tom Cruise in The Mummy, the Rock in Baywatch, Alicia Vikander in Tomb Raider). Venom is the exception not the rule
  9. You think? I think if reviews were Jumanji 1 level, it could’ve made about 10-20m more. 38 on RT is pretty damn tragic. I mean even Moonfall is higher.
  10. If these are the numbers Tom can pull with a bad movie, imagine what he could do if someone gave him an actual good project to star in.
  11. MIB should’ve been a success for Hemsworth. Coming right off Endgame, paired with the same actress everyone loved him with in Ragnarok, familiar IP (albeit without Will), plays to his comic strengths. Uncharted shows even a critical panning shouldn’t hurt too much if there’s enough star power to overcome it
  12. Didn’t help Hemsworth opening Men in Black two months after Endgame either
  13. ???? Pattinson is ten years older than the other two. They’re not going out for the same roles.
  14. Did the cast of Death on the Nile do any kind of press? I haven't even seen any junket interviews.
  15. Aren’t fans of the games the loudest ones who are shitting on this movie? I don’t see them rushing it to see this.
  16. Tom Holland movie star era?? Surprised this did as well as it did with that RT score
  17. Maybe Liam is just old and over it and just wants to coast. Can’t blame him tbh
  18. Now why did I think Blacklight was a documentary about a whale 🤔
