this sounds cool, but it sounds way better for an avengers movie rather than a strange movie which didn't even do that well at the box office. also if they do get tobey/andrew back, i'd rather it be for an actual spidey movie than for a side plot in a strange movie

do you not remember the big fight sony and disney had over spiderman rights last year? he's only contracted for one more spiderman movie and one more avengers movie in the mcu. who knows what will happen after that (i will say disney really can't afford to lose tom anymore after the losing rdj, chris evans and now, chadwick. captain marvel made a lot of money, but i don't see the enthusiasm for brie's carol in the fanbase like i see for tom's spidey. mcu needs their new figurehead, and with chadwick's passing, it has to be tom now. their other characters - dr strange, ant-man, guardians - aren't popular enough. knowing this, i assume disney will play ball)

this will need a cracking trailer to succeed because i have not encountered a single person on the internet or in real life who wants this movie to exist tom holland needs to be more careful what he spends his spiderman capital on. he is very beloved by moviegoers now but who knows how long that'll last if/when spidey is booted from the mcu and he wastes time doing doomed projects like this

haven't read the books, but a fan of most of the cast and denis the trailer was boring? some cool visuals, but not anything that wowed me. maybe if we hadn't had five star wars movies in the last five years, it would seem fresher

this movie made no damn sense and if it didn't have "directed by christopher nolan" at the beginning, it would have an rt score of 30%

yes, snow is one of the main characters but the girl will be much trickier to pull off. imagine manic pixie dream girl times ten and then imagine a very annoying love story between them. i don't think suzanne collins is very good at writing love stories, and this one was much worse than katniss and peeta. casting is going to be key in the movie, and i don't know what it says about the book that i, a perpetual fan-caster of every book i read, have come up with absolutely nothing for both the main characters in the book

just finished reading the book. nowhere near as good as the hunger games or catching fire, but i did feel a lot of the scenes that didn't work in the book would translate better on screen eg. lots of singing scenes. idk if this is going to work as a movie, it seems more suited to a tv show to me. also casting is going to be key because the two main characters in this were very flat on the page

not willing to call flop on this until the book comes out. catching fire was the best book by far and produced the best movie. if the book is a critical/commercial success, a movie should do fine. if the book gets a tepid response from fans, so will the movie

the conceit of shazam is ‘little kid in a superhero’s body’. i thought they were pushing it in the first one where shazam!billy acted like a five year old on a sugar high at disneyland while teen!billy was far more muted and angsty, but i think the dissonance will feel worse when teen!billy looks far older. it just won’t make sense for him to act so childish anymore. and him acting childish is the whole appeal of these movies

seriously....how is this going to work? the two versions of billy already seemed dissonant in the first film. i can’t imagine how it’s going to work now when the whole appeal is ‘kid in a superhero’s body’

i still think a marauders series would go over well with audiences. there’s a direct link/emotional connection that isn’t there with the fantastic beasts series, and i still think half the appeal of the hp universe is the magical boarding school fantasy
