  1. Seeing The Grudge tomorrow and seeing this on Saturday. I think I've watched one or two versions of the story but not since I was a kid so either way it should be a pretty fresh experience for me.
  2. Do you think some studios use the holiday frame too liberally? As in, do you think schedule films there just assuming that it'll make tons of money?
  3. We know this is going to Netflix everywhere but the US on January 31, but when does it stream for folks in the US? Asking because I'm wondering if this will completely die in theatres on that weekend and thereafter. It would be a shame given how well it's playing in theatres right now. Still waiting patiently to see it.....
  4. So my mom went to go see this with a guy she's been seeing. I warned her ahead of time that, while I didn't want to spoil it for them, that the film was a universal flop with the critics. the audience. at the box office; everywhere. She said thanks but we're going to go ahead and see it. Tells me today that she fell asleep on the guy. Said it was awful. My mom's the sweetest. most diplomatic person I know so I really feel bad for this movie that it got that treatment from her of all people.
  5. Massive initial wide expansion for 1917! Going to have a huge wide opening, I think.
  6. Question for you: how big is International Workers' Day compared to other international holidays? Asking because it seems like it's a big priority for Marvel to always roll out their spring releases in time for this day. Is it a really big deal/a really lucrative day for overseas grosses? Something is ringing a bell that it's one of the biggest holidays in the world for some reason.... Funny that domestically Labor Day is a "no 1 currs" holiday and the weekend is always one of the slowest of the year haha.
  7. Guy's in denial. Take it from a Star Wars/box office fan: it's easier to just rip the band-aid off. Just admit the film is tanking post-Christmas and move on.
  8. So The Numbers and BOM both have No Time to Die scheduled for April 10, 2020. Yet I still can't find any news stories or other sources for this development. Anyone else?
  9. Happy New Year everyone! Hoping for great things in 2020, both for you guys and at the box office!
  10. I see it going over $20M. It looks good.
  11. Lol! I know. They have zero clue about they're doing. Leave the box office to more qualified folks, IGN, and just do what you do.
  12. Nice move! Cable really isn't worth it. The only thing cable providers and networks are relying on now big time is sports. Without those, yikes.
  13. June is going to be such a fun month! I really hope Soul breaks out to the extent that both you guys predict.
  14. What a weekend this would be if you were close with your predicts! Soul 2nd weekend 50+ In the Heights OW 50 Top Gun Maverick OW 45 Wonder Woman 4th weekend 20
  15. Release date question: Are Antlers and Antebellum not opening wide on April 17 and 24th respectively?
  16. A lot of the fan made ones are always the best. Love the creativity! I will say I love this one, though for whatever reason Sony isn't using it as the main theatrical poster:
  17. God, I haven't been bowling in so long. As much as I love movies that would actually be a tough choice for me.
  18. Favourite CBM? I guess it's technically Joker since it features a comic book character, but it barely feels like one otherwise. In terms of full on classic CBM's, you know it's' Endgame.
  19. The flu prevented me from keeping a promise and going to see this with my mom yesterday. Looks like I dodged a bullet, though I already knew that. I told her it was ultimately her who dodged a bullet, given she was going in expecting to have a great time. Bless people's hearts for thinking this would translate just fine to screen.
  20. Looks like a $13.2M 3-day for this. Comps are hard to find for it so I really have no idea how it's going to fare. @TwoMisfits any plans for this?
