  1. The cast intrigues me and sometimes that itself can lift a film. I think I'll give it a chance, so long as my theatre gets it, which I'm not really counting on. If I happen to be able to see it I'll let you know what I think!
  2. Is that so? The US denied involvement in the latest air strike on Iraqi militia.
  3. Geez, that's brutal. Seriously, stay safe @DeeCee. I hope all your friends and family are okay too.
  4. Please, PLEASE don't let yourself be consumed by all the alarmism and sensationalism coming from either side. This is seriously like Joker all over again.
  5. I'm really looking forward to seeing what projects he does post-MCU. Dolittle doesn't count for me. I thought I would go see ANYTHING he did after but I thought wrong. I'd see another Sherlock Holmes though. I just hope he does something more interesting soon.
  6. I have to say that this looks better and more fun than I would have ever thought or cared to admit. If I'm seeing anything over MLK Jr. Day weekend it'll be this. I have zero interest in Dolittle.
  7. @SLAM! Do you mind editing the release date in the title to January 24, 2020? By the way, do you plan on seeing this? It's got a great cast!
  8. I hope this breaks out. A horror where the kids are the bad guys seems like an interesting, unique concept. Too bad it's January so most people's inclination will be "It's probably terrible"....which it probably is.
  9. Was just going to mention Thanos being an Eternal-Deviant hybrid. Maybe Thanos doesn't get mentioned in the first movie but, assuming there will be sequels, I hope the story finds it's way to a Thanos connection. His back story is fascinating.
  10. It's at 76% after 37 reviews. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_gentlemen STX badly needs a win. Maybe this is their next surprise January hit after The Upside last year.
  11. Exactly. Ali Khamenei and the other high-ups in Iran will have strong words for Americans - like they already have - but it will amount to nothing and they know it. It won't stop the alarmist Trump-hating media from doing their alarmist and sensationalist thing though.
  12. Yeah....but you always hope it's that good. After all, the trailers are all we have to go by.
  13. Are we getting another trailer for this or what? Is Paramount just going to let it die? BTW, can someone please add the release date - January 31, 2020 - to the title?
  14. I don't think this is going to be that great a movie, but I'm such a sucker for period horrors. It's one of the reasons I love The Witch so much. I know this won't come close to that but I still love the old aesthetic so yeah, I'll probably go see this.
  15. Funny how both the films expanding wide on the 10th will probably out-open the new wide releases. That's January for you. The best films are usually the the limited releases from December expanding wide.
  16. Thanks! So, like @Arendelle Legion said, it's pretty agiven then that most MCU films will move up a week to take advantage of this holiday? Well, I guess it has always been that way as far as the overseas debut is concerned, but seems like it'll become a regular thing for the domestic market as well.
  17. I think Grudge will still have a good opening (maybe not 20+ like I originally thought) but have really crappy legs. Like, barely over 2.0x.
  18. God damn it! It looked so good though, at least to me.
  19. Hmm, I wonder if the date was simply wrongly reported in the first place. That would make the most sense.
  20. OUCH! I noticed in the tracking thread you said you're hearing not great things. What kind of (non-spoiler) stuff are you hearing?
