  1. Maybe Zoe has superior physicality. That's probably a factor when casting for a role like this.
  2. Typical Marvel CGI. I'm learning to just ignore it now because I'm so invested in the stories and characters.
  3. Looking at last year's increases on the first Tuesday of December, clearly I'm out to lunch in predicting around a 50% bump for F2. Ralph Breaks the Internet increased 85.6%(!!). Creed II increased 62.8%. Pretty much everything, adult movie, family movie, whatever, increased over 60%.
  4. People should not sleep on Eternals (if there even are any doing so). I'm not talking about box office, just its importance as a chapter in the MCU. We're talking about the origins of this universe here. This is perhaps the highest and most overarching a single sub-franchise will go in the MCU.
  5. Actually, true that. I guess I was thinking AoS season 1: just agents doing their thing on the ground level. Agree about Eternals as well. I'm REALLY stoked for that one! I just mean it's nice to get a BW flavour of MCU movie now and then.
  6. I suppose these Blumhouse horrors are generally so cheap that it doesn't matter if this dies after Christmas. It will probably make most of its domestic budget back on opening weekend, even if the opening weekend is nothing special. That's all they need. Just a little Christmas themed horror movie for audiences to enjoy during a very small window. Guess there's nothing wrong with it.
  7. Yeah the Lion King came out unscathed. I remember what you're talking about re: Star is Born though. I also happen to know several music artist super fans so that's how I know they can be pretty nuts in their fandom.
  8. Was gonna say, this sounds like a jackpot scenario for the @TwoMisfits family!
  9. I don't know, is anyone else actually looking forward to a more "grounded" MCU film? I know I am. The MCU has several different worlds, or corners: cosmic (Guardians), fantastical (Thor), magical (Doctor Strange) technical (Iron Man) etc. This would be the grounded or spy corner of the MCU, the ground floor so to speak. Think something like Agents of Shield on steroids and with recognizable characters. It's a flavour we haven't really tasted in awhile and I'm looking forward to it.
  10. It will probably indeed be walk up based, but do you also get the feeling the last Jumanji was simply lightning in a bottle?
  11. So will Christoph Waltz's Blofeld be connected to this in any way or are they abandoning that thread?
  12. No kidding huh. She's neck and neck with Florence Pugh for me. If there's ever a movie with both of them I'm not seeing it because I'll literally have a heart attack.
  13. Well it would be a little odd in the context of a cinematic universe, where pretty much everything is connected and means something. I for one think there will be plot points and characters (Yelena Belova for sure) that matter going forward, things that for whatever reason didnt show up or weren't important between Civil War and Endgame but will be relevant in the near future. Come on guys, we should know by now this is what Marvel Studios does best.
  14. We have to wait for context with this one to answer the question of "what's the point?". Just wait for the movie.
  15. ^ This is the best way I can describe the movie too. It was all about the actors in this one.
  16. This really did well over Thanksgiving considering the theatre count. PTA was really strong over the 3-day ($7,035). I wonder if it gets more theatres over the coming weeks.
  17. Not that anyone cares, but this starts at 24% on RT with 37 reviews so far. Maybe we won't even get any more reviews.
  18. Yeah that's the way I see it. It hit the jackpot with the toxic TLJ reactions. Not that it didn't do well on its own merit but if it did what it did at the box office entirely on its own, well, it would be tracking for a much bigger opening. The drop this is going to see from the last one is the same kinda thing people ragged on Star Wars for when TLJ was way down from TFA. This should be doing at least a $60M OW due to how beloved its predecessor was. It's odd, really.
  19. I did not remember that. Haha, dumb idea is right. I wonder if they were just expecting people to gobble up the Christmas connection ON Christmas and then forget about it afterward and treat it like a normal horror. Anyway, not sensing much buzz for this. Although it's not surprising. Even if it's relevant to Christmas, people aren't really thinking horror around this time.
  20. Anyone see the clip with Kathy Bates, who plays the title character's mother? I have a feeling this one is going to be gut wrenching to watch.
  21. I'm actually really looking forward to this. It's mostly because I can't help getting hyped about the main trio of actresses (Theron, Kidman and Robbie). I mean, what a collection of talent that is! Not to mention I love John Lithgow, although he's obviously going to be pretty despicable in this.
  22. We clearly need more movies that provoke music artist fan wars. Marvel vs DC is sooooo 2016.
  23. Yep, and the other thing is it's a film that could play very well throughout January rather than sort of peter out after Christmas holidays.
