  1. I'm wondering what sort of internal multiplier this movie will get. Pikachu was pretty frontloaded for a family film (sub 10x). Sonic doesn't have as much of a large fanbase but I don't think it will have more than a 12x IM. I think it would need about 3.3-3.5 mil in previews to do 40 mil OW.
  2. Considering that I've seen you like my Margaret posts, I think Margaret is in your top 3 and maybe, Fury Road is the other film in your top 3. Also need to watch more films from the first half of the decade. Don't have many films from 2014, 2011, 2012, and 2010 in my (very loose) top 100 list. Most of my pre-2015 films in the list are from 2013 (4 10/10s from the year too).
  3. I know there's gonna be a best films of the decade list coming up (will put down 100 films for that if its allowed) but here's my top 10 for now:: 1. Margaret 2. Her 3. Mad Max Fury Road 4. The Tale of Princess Kaguya 5. Manchester by the Sea 6. Phantom Thread 7. Anomalisa 8. Silence 9. They Shall Not Grow Old 10. Paddington 2
  4. Of course they got the shitty writer to write the Beast Wars movie. I really don't give a crap about a Bumblebee sequel but Beast Wars could have been truly awesome if they got decent people behind it.
  5. Haven't seen this yet but pretty much what I expected. I'm guessing removing everything that made Bad Boys 2 so awesome (am rewatching it right now on Netflix and the movie still works better than 90% of moden day blockbusters) made it an easier sell to audiences and critics.
  6. Most people who engage in the Marvel and DC fan rivalry were probably not even 10 years old back in 2008.
  7. Aren't they gonna drop on the 29th? Seems like you can already buy tickets at cinemark (don't think it was bought online though) according @zeb1814
  8. Reactions to Wendy seemed a bit mixed to me. Zola, Minari, and Never Rarely Sometimes Always seem to be getting the best buzz from the festival.
  9. Only know Bryant from the animated short film he made with Glenn Keane (which is wonderful) but I get that he's a huge icon in the US and this is a pretty big loss. Especially sad if his kids died too.
  10. When will the Chinese box-office fully recover? Will it recover by the time Mulan releases?
  11. Lol, your crap is just petty at this point. Wow, I'm gonna never sleep again if Sonic does well in the box office. Also, you lost here when you're comparing this to The Emoji Movie.
  12. Was hoping for a Bong surprise but like with Miller in 2015, seems like the internet's prayers didn't work.
  13. The trades are talking about an opening that is half of Venom's lol. And how is a late embargo a move that fights RT? I guess Dolittle fought RT by having it's embargo lift on the same day it released and audience totally love it.
  14. Venom didn't even have very good WoM though. It had a B+ (Joker also had a B+ but it got that for obvious reasons) and its legs were lower than average for a superhero movie.
  15. 1. Little Women 10/10 2. Parasite 10/10 3. The Irishman 9/10 4. Marriage Story 8/10 5. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 8/10 6. 1917 6/10 7. Joker 6/10 8. Ford v Ferrari 5/10 9. JoJo Rabbit 4/10 (2nd worst Oscar nominee of the decade, the worst one being Bohemian Rhapsody)
  16. With pretty much every horror movie underperforming for the past few months (I think the last time we got a horror overperformer was in August with Ready or Not and Scary Stories), I think BOP is a bit too optimistic here with the movie's opening weekend. I think it's gonna open to 60 mil at best and have somewhere around a 160 mil finish (BOP is too pessmistic with legs so it evens out here).
  17. The Turning's RT audience score seems awful (worse than The Grudge remake's). Are we actually getting 2 F movies on cinemascore this month?
  18. This weekend I think. Fandango, Cinemark, IMAX, and Regal have showtimes up so it should be within a day or two..
  19. Why the hell does this movie have music from Mitski, Empress of, Pale Waves, Soccer Mommy, and Alice Glass? I guess Alice Glass fits the tone of the movie but the rest really don't and now a chunk of my recommended on spotify is from this movie's soundtrack (because I listen to these artists). Edit: The got MUNA and Courtney Love too. The person who chose the artists for this movie's soundtrack has some good taste. Also, surprisingly enough the Alice Glass song doesn't really fit here but the Mitski song does.
