Kinda surprised Nicholson actually won. Don't think I've seen another show where an actor gives a good but not very memorable performance for most of the show but then does something extraordinary in the last episode. Also the only bit of the Emmys I saw was the directing bit and based on just the clip they showed in the showcase, how the fuck did The Handmaiden, directed by someone who can't even direct dialogue scenes get nominated? For some reason the characters are just placed to the corner of the screen while everything else is just negative space, which just feels like incompetent directing.

Watched Promare on the big screen today and was surprised by the crowd there (although I guess not that surprising considering the number of people into anime here). About the same size as the Shang-Chi crowd.

Since you brought that up, I would've given anything if Shang-Chi was an epic romance (when was the last time Hollywood made one of those?) between Leung and Chen's characters that had the same vibes as that scene between them in the start.

I've been wondering if Shang-Chi would be included at all in something like an upcoming Avengers movie after all controversy with China. I feel like that would have more of an impact there than this stuff.

You don't need to wait a decade to make a TV show spin-off. Plus, the show is set a prequel set before the movie. Making it a movie would just confuse audiences. This isn't even up to WB. It's a Legendary franchise.

I really doubt either Venom 2 or Dune are doing their pre-pandemic numbers (their pre-pandemic numbers would've been higher). I don't know why people keep saying Dune would've done BR2049 numbers when the movie clearly has more hype (now proven by European sales) than that movie did. And I doubt a service barely anyone uses will kill Halloween Kills. It's gonna be more like 40/90, which isn't great but probably enough to make a profit.

Guys you all got it wrong. Nolan watched Dear Evan Hansen and realised Universal is the only studio making real cinema.
