  1. I've not seen Robert Pattinson in anything for years now. I'm not addressing his acting here. I'd just like to point out that variations of this comment "more gritty than pretty boy actor" were hurled at Heath Ledger. The gasps that 10 Things I Hate About You drama teen angst actor was going to be THE JOKER did not go over well.
  2. When it is not yet 8:30(cst) and you peek at BOT and not only is a daily thread up....it is on page 8! This is box office excitement at its best!
  3. That looked really bad. Reminded me somewhat of that comedy about the "alien grey" who gets picked up in an RV and zany things happen. I don't even recall the name of it now.
  4. Avatar 2 is Dec 2020 which is closer to 18 months away...so I'm not sure what summer 2020 film @AndyK might mean.
  5. Being an OG and still current VALIANT fan/reader I'm very curious and somewhat nervous about Sony's handling of Bloodshot. Glad to see a large name attached to the lead in Vin Diesel. The Valiant Universe has lots to play with if done correctly.
  6. Most likely an estimation based on sold out shows, and near capacity ones, reported via Fandango and similar theater sites taking into account movie cost in said locations.
  7. One would think post-Endgame that CM will return back to Earth with dailies and weekends.
  8. Retired from active service.....does this mean theoretically that MI-6 would have a new active 007 agent??
  9. I hate Twitter. It is a big, big, big part of society's woes. The Mos Eisley of our time.
  10. I had hoped for better. I know the film has some flaws but if RT convinces me frequently of why I just don't care about it, it's a 15% score. The mob mentality pile on is in full effect with this one. It was flawed fun, but fun and sets up a sequel I'd like to see(but very likely will not).
  11. **Pops in after an abscence What is going on right now?! **Leaving again till Endgame
  12. Well Mary would be out of college over the course of a trilogy most likely. She is college bound in this one.
  13. Could be close. The numbers for the final 4 games Saturday night were 14m + Championship game typically draws higher, even if it was no change one can't argue about almost 15m NOT choosing to make the theater a choice as a non-factor.
  14. The Olympics, pay per view Boxing and the Super Bowl are also legit deals that are cited for affecting box office. Yes, people love sports so the impact, family film or not, can be noticed.
  15. Since Disney started the Live Action adaptions of the animated fare something had to be the first disappointment. I was surprised that Dumbo was coming so soon frankly. Cinderella, BatB and Jungle Book all made sense to me, my feeling was they were at the top of the beloved in Disney circles. Dumbo...not so much. Aladdin....you are on the clock and that could go either way but it is a beloved animated film. I would've thought they might make Little Mermaid a higher priority. With Frozen going for an animated followup it'll be some time before that is done live action I'd wager. However, when they do...watch out!!
  16. I'm looking forward to this. It still lingers like a bad aftertaste that DelTorro didn't prioritize a Hell Boy 3 with Perlman and Selma Blair. That group deserved to go out better than being trounced by The Dark Knight 5 days after opening. Going Thursday night, 7pm
  17. I saw Shazam last night. Grade: C+ It is going to be forgettable. I'm likely to see it one more time when it hits Netflix just to see if after a few months it has held or hurt itself given the space of time. The positives are the actor playing Freddie shines in and steals nearly every scene he is in. The final act is fun but the build up to it drags at times. Middle and End credit sequence. Sequel set up as well. My 7:15pm Preview night auditorium(2-D) that seats 400 had about 30 people in it...max.
