  1. I don't know that I can get to this one but would like to. I've seen all the other MIBs in theater.
  2. I saw JW3:P this past Saturday. I find that I don't wholly enjoy them as much as I want to though. I'd have to grade this a B-/C+ even cause from a story perspective about "The Table" things seem off. Are we doing spoilers here yet?
  3. Glad this has done well. Beating out the RT critic crowd. My wife and I wanted to see it but had a very full weekend already. Our FB feed has seen several positive WOM comments about it though.
  4. The coolest part of the trailer is that Luna's Terminator has, essentially, the ability to be in two places at once. Didn't see any jaw dropping sequences that made one go, "haven't seen that before". I need an answer to where is John Connor though. I'm among the group who actually like the real T3 and Salvation though. I wanted a true sequel to Salvation, set in the Future War that completed the loop of sending Kyle back. This is not that. Genysis was a disaster.
  5. I've got the numbers I care for today. The internet never fails me. Folks being trite because a user has a "signature". Acting like he's the one with a weird problem. 🤣🤣 Use your sig all day long my man. Use it knowing it irks them, that's exactly what I'd do.
  6. Well that didn't take long. I've not seen JW3....so, I guess JW is alright by films end.
  7. Yes and Yes Especially the RDJ, that was an easy one to say "wow, look at the personal story he has to draw on for Tony where there are parallels". I even recall outlets saying it was a good choice. Now they couched it by also saying risky cause RDJ was still on his way back and unproven as a lead but as a talent he was lauded for the choice.
  8. Legally they can't use Fu-Manchu. Subbing Mandarin in really is a perfect scenario, at least for the MCU. It won't align with the comics retcon of Fu-Manchu but them is the dice.
  9. We saw a preview for this last night during Toy Story 2 on ABC. My wife said,"Ok, it looks good. We might need to see this." Now, our schedule is so busy and I'm not likely to see G:KotM so how we manage this and not the former I don't know.
  10. This. If Avatars sequels actually take off beyond this one. I fully expect some interested and morbidly interested attendance for the initial sequel making it a hit. The films that follow though are wildcards at this moment. The Avatar franchise will just be part of the backdrop, not the definer of that. The MCU's stake is huge at this point and already encompasses a generation. Between the SW films, '83/'99, no one in that generation says Back to the Future or Ghostbusters is the singular defining zeitgeist of their generation. Both are components of it though. Avatar is likely to just be a component of the next decade, not the definer of it.
  11. About anything, anytime at the drop of hat. Historical context is dead as well. The liberals are ruining us from having a past that doesn't wholly equate to their ideal present. Scrub it, censor it and shut it down.
  12. Agreed, this film is essentially writing new rules for films with record setting numbers out of the gate.
  13. Hollywood is now rebooting Saw, sigh! In 2030 I'll read a headline saying The Purge is being rebooted I suppose.
  14. I don't see why they don't do a third Ant-Man film. The sequel went up, his exposure continues to, ahem, grow. GotG is a 2023 date, feel like that was said due to Gunn and the SSq reboot/sequel at Warners.
  15. I already found the first one to be interesting though. Also, on another point from this page of the thread, I feel any new SW project not tied to the original saga is going to have to prove itself as well. SW has literally been just about those characters from Rogue One to Solo. SW, unlike the MCU, has not tested itself with the vast characters and worlds it could explore as yet so we don't know how the audience will really react. Could be with overwhelming excitement. Might be a collective *sigh*.
  16. Still haven't seen a single one, can't say I'll see this one.
  17. Unexpected but welcome! Edit: not sure why the tweet didn't copy in the quote. Yes, Ten Rings and Mandarin, bring that for real into the MCU. An abandoned plot.
  18. Are you new to box office or just visiting a theater in general...ever, at all?
  19. This. Post-Memorial Day is when I'm most curious about how it's legs will carry it through the rest of summer. Small bump around SM:FfH and July 4th long time frame.
  20. Yeah, Fu Manchu was retconned out as Shang-Chi's father, same for his half-brother(whose moniker I forget). Marvel did come to an agreement with the estate of Rohmer to reprint the famed Master of Kung-Fu series recently. They up front stated that the series would be initially collected as 4 Omnibus. They are now doing them in more broken up story arcs under the EPIC line of deluxe trade paperbacks. Not sure how long the publishing deal lasts but its been at/over 2yrs now. So at least when the film hits there will be material out there for people to find.
  21. Just jumping in, no time to scroll/read thread, are the Pika folks happy with its weekend? Plenty of crazy predicts for it months ago, the inevitable reality is here now, so.....
  22. Very quiet daily thread today. So the common thinking is that Endgame is somewhere in the $725-740m Dom range come Monday actuals.
