  1. It's just one instance in Season 1 if I remember correctly, with the wine merchant, when Robert was still around. It can easily be explained that Varys changed his mind once Robert was offed (Robert's last wish after all) and when the War of the Five Kings/White Walker threat sent everything to shit again. And he did convince Cersei to get Barristan fired so that he go and align with Dany. The Jorah thing could be attributed to Tywin himself. I don't remember Varys's involvement in that being mentioned or insinuated to at all.
  2. I keep forgetting how much I love this movie. Hilarious and incredibly touching. A+
  3. It's pretty fantastic. Not as brilliant as my other favorite Neil Gaiman story adaptation that is Stardust, but the animation is crazy. I have no clue how they pulled off the Other Mother transition in stop motion.
  4. Fuck this shit. It is thanks to this steaming pile and Elektra that sexist asshole execs everywhere found a flimsy reason to prevent female superhero movies from being greenlit for the longest time ever.
  5. It's a good omen. In 2012, Katniss overperformance was like a rousing opening gig for the main TA gig. Now in 2015, Dom and Crew open for AoU.
  6. Why is this in spoiler tag? I thought book spoilers were cool in here? Anyways, I have a feeling D&D found the "valonquar" resolution in the books, as revealed to them by GRRM, to be cheesy or maybe Maggy was completely wrong and no valonquar of any kind plays a role in Cersei's death. That could be the reason they omitted it. They may be changing the outcome or didn't find it relevant to include the point if it doesn't play a part in the future, other than just contributing to Cersei's already heightened paranoia. The dead mother, son and father reasons are more than enough for Cersei to loathe Tyrion. No need to add more. In fact, I found it to be a refreshing change from D&D's tendency to overemphasise the sympathetic side of Cersei.
  7. Dileep Rao and Morgan Freeman? I do agree that racist stereotypes are worse than no representation at all though. It's kind of problematic when Not Another Teen Movie has to call out on Hollywood bull.
  8. They are kind of challenged if they can't remember who Cersei is. And I don't see how it is unimportant as it is the GoT version of the Smeagol opening sequence in RotK.
  9. Trying very hard? The three "bad" SM films made $336.5M, $262M and $202.8M domestically respectively. Sure they were decreasing but how many movies pull in those kind of numbers? Even the acclaimed Winter Soldier couldn't make as much as TASM1. TASM2 made almost as much as Thor: TDW and more than Cap 1 and Thor 1. By your logic, DOM audience are trying very hard to send a clear message to Marvel that they don't want Cap and Thor solo movies as well.
  10. Also want to see reactions of non-readers to the Maggy the Frog flashback.
  11. I enjoy the conversation scenes just as much as the action scenes. Makes shit going down more thrilling.
  12. To be fair, Knightley does divide people. I can see how some people may view her as a "raw talent" but I highly doubt she would have the same following if she were more plain looking.
  13. The Others Also a shout out to the opening sequence of Scream. There is just one jump scare in the entire thing but it is still creepy as hell because of the conversation on the phone.
  14. Who is that? I can't even remember. Btw, hearing some great things about Stannis in S5.
  15. Ooh, interesting. I was always of the impression that Hunchback had a much lower gross than Hercules. I also thought Jumanji and Million Dollar Baby had made much more.
  16. I think the 2 movies Grim mentioned to be in the range of 99-100 were both Disney distributed animations, Hercules and Gnomeo & Juliet. Herc bowed at $99,112,101 while Gnomeo had the most excruciating total ever: $99,967,670! Have no clue why Disney didn't make the slightest effort there.
  17. Deb Ann Woll needs to be a big screen, Oscar winning actress. So glad Jim Parrack is getting a big break in Suicide Squad.
  18. True. Now Pan (2003) on the other hand is a much better movie. Funnily though, this Pooh movie sounds more like Pan than Hook.
  19. TLM will need Avatar 2 like technology though for the underwater scenes. Super expensive. Which is one reason I'm really curious regarding what WB does for Aquaman.
