  1. The best Loras scene was in Season 2 and was edited out: Having said that, the Tyrells are such 2D ciphers in the books. The show has done a marvellous job fleshing out Margaery and Olenna. Mace is nothing to write home about in the books so it doesn't make a difference to me how he's portrayed on the show. Loras could do with a little more badassery but it's ok. He has his moments like in the tourney, Blackwater and the zingy comeback he delivered to Jaime in "The Lion and the Rose". It's not like his character has a satisfactory resolution in the books. Unspoiled me is sure the show will probably be an improvement there.
  2. I was talking to my friend who calls himself a "former feminist" and he actually claimed that "male gaze" is a "scientifically flawed reasoning" as it is not inclusive of "LGBTQIA interests". Yes, because those objectified women in cologne/razor/men's clothing ads are totally keeping sapphic desires in mind. TDKR "Catwoman" was nothing but a 2D Mary Sue. Ariadne was just a POV stand in for the audience. The only truly interesting Nolan female character was Mal, who ironically represented a cumulation of a male character's deep seated insecurities and fears. Nolan trying to tell us something about himself?
  3. May have a GotG-esque "pulling the strings" cameo, methinks. I actually think Hel will play a major role in Ragnarok, seeing all the references to it in AoU.
  4. 250K (limited release)/23M Indie starring Aubrey Plaza about a young hipster woman who befriends a homeless man named "Art" who hangs around in Central Park, NY. They Come After You Close Your Eyes
  5. Yeah, for all this praise Renner is getting, I thought it was something out of this world. I ended up liking Linda Cardellini's performance more than his.
  6. Catwoman debuted in the same book too, and Robin debuted just a couple of weeks before.
  7. Both of them are equally good in their own respective ways. DoFP Quicksilver was cool and funny while ATJ Quicksilver was much more substantial than expected.
  8. I think there is an Oscar nom and an incredibly fun role for Melissa McCarthy playing an E.L. James inspired ego trippah.
  9. Every time I hear "Spider-Man spoof", I instantly imagine the sordid crime against humanity that was Superhero Movie.
  10. I actually have no opinion on this. On one hand, yay L&M and animated Spidey, on the other, kind of overkill as the live-action Spidey will also be of the same tone, going by Feige's comments. Why couldn't Sony just hire L&M for the live action reboot? Talk about tunnel vision post Lego.
  11. Hopefully the upcoming Spy would be an interesting deconstruction when it comes to expected gender roles in the genre.
  12. I hope Ethan Hawke gets one eventually. It would be shocking if Leo doesn't get one in the next ten years.
  13. I'm actually excited for the ridiculous suckage that will be DOM next weekend. Will it give last week of April 2012 a run for its peanuts in destitution?
  14. Yeah it's crazy to think that almost 1.5 years have passed since those two overperformers came out and no film has managed to gross as much as them since.
  15. I thought it was getting a limited release in 2015 to make it eligible?
  16. Andrew Garfield may get a nom for Silence, especially as he's coming off an acclaimed performance in 99 Homes. The competition is stacked this year so it really depends on the role.
  17. But OTOH, it totally clears things up for the Littlefinger theory, which I find way more intriguing anyway.
  18. Talisa was definitely a HUGE improvement over Jane Westerling. The gutting of the POV structure has also helped the non-POV characters like the Red Viper, Tyrells and Bronn shine. The Dany, Tyrion, Jaime and Sansa storylines seem to be awesome in S5.
  19. I remember that now. Hmm, weren't the Lannisters dismissing his Dany intel? I kind of figured he'd deflect after that treatment.
