  1. Have you seen Ariel? She is the definition of stick thin. Emma's got the perfect personality too. Cast her and Neeson as Ariel and Triton, with Latifah as Ursula and the movie is bound to be the biggest Disney animation turned into live action. That is until the Frozen live action film comes along. Once Sophie Turner grows into her twenties, she'd make a great Elsa.
  2. If another big studio wanted to make a big budget BatB, they would. Of course it is a risk because then they would be going against a remake of Disney's already established property, but the decision to not greenlight such a project would ultimately be their own, not Disney's. Otherwise the WB Jungle Book movie wouldn't be happening.
  3. Except they don't. In fact, usually whenever Disney comes out with a smash adaptation of a fairytale, the marketplace is flooded with tiny budget, inferior adaptations of the same fairytale, trying to cash in on that Mouse success. Disney only sues/can sue when the likeness/names of their character or design versions and songs are encroached upon, which is fair enough considering those aspects are their creative property.
  4. Yeah, it was supposedly going to be titled "The Name Game", be set in Spain (meaning First Latina Disney Princess) and they were interested in casting Lea Michelle for the lead (meaning musical). Dunno how true any of this is though or even if it was, how much of it is still on the table.
  5. Happy b'day! I think the movie in question is the Rumpelstiltskin adaptation though, especially as it was strongly rumored to be set in Spain. Though I wouldn't be surprised if another switch took place on the WDAS release schedule, ala Giants and Moana, freeing Bove and Lee for Frozen 2.
  6. Also, when it comes to animated movies, pop culture outlets usually tend to be obsessed with only princess musicals, sequels, and movies with bombastic openings like Lego and the Pixar movies of the 00's. Since BH6 fulfilled none of those criteria, it was always destined to be overshadowed at least in terms of popular news coverage.
  7. I dunno, I think it is worth it. On the flip side, Cody's meta-commentary can entirely go over people's heads, as was the case with Jennifer's Body.
  8. "Juno" screenwriter Diablo Cody to pen Barbie script OMG, epic Ultron trailer, superb Beauty and the Beast casting news and now Cody scripting Barbie. This day keeps on giving!! :D
  9. Fucking stupid. The NUMBER ONE complaint was that the ceremony recognizes too few movies. So reducing the number of BP nominees is obviously the solution.
  10. A murderous mercenary hired by the government to do their dirty work for them is a pretty daring role for Smith. But you are entitled to your ignorance.
  11. I love it! See Numbers, this is why I keep saying D&D have a much better knack of retaining audience interest than GRRM. They are already capitalizing on the Half-Man finally coming face to face with the Mother of Dragons. Fine revision, awesome marketing.
  12. Will Smith has always been known for shrewdly picking his roles (AE being the one exception, though even that was more of a plan to buttress Jaden as a lead). It didn't surprise me that he accepted Suicide Squad. This is exactly what he needs to do to get his drawing power back to its full extent. Pick daring roles in off-beat blockbusters.
  13. Josie was a great movie. Loved what it had to say about the commoditized nature of overnight boy bands and pop starlets.
  14. Hmm, 2 of them look okay. Pretty tame looks compared to the new comic redesigns.
  15. I just realized BH6 is the first movie with a Stan Lee cameo to win an Oscar. Insane.
  16. Don't write off Moana already. It's from the directors of Aladdin and Little Mermaid. At this point last year, many claimed the Animated Feature award was between Lego and HTTYD2, and we saw how that turned out.
  17. I teared up when he said he was grateful to belong to the last era of pencil and paper animation. Best 3 seconds of the entire broadcast.
  18. Probably yes. Who's going to give a damn about AS other than some jingoists one year from now?
  19. DAT FROZEN EFFECT! Hiro and Baymax avenged Ralph and Vanellope.
