I really liked it

Me too.

But I didn't watch the trailers so I went to see MOS without any misconceptions about it, waiting for  the next Mona Lisa of filmmaking or something.

Hyping yourself with trailers is the worst idea a cinephile can have.

This thread is hilarious, when MOS pulls in good numbers, people praise the film. Now that its pulling in bad numbers, all of a sudden the films is garbage lol.

I haven't been a big fan of the film from the beginning so I don't understand you're saying.

The action scenes were way to repetitive though. I think it needs new direction as well.

I'm sorry but I don't get the "repetitive" part. It might have looked like that because it was just Supes fighting everyone unlike in THE AVENGERS (which for me had a little bit repetitive action) where there were a bunch of characters.

It seems they blew their wad with this one (with a memo saying "must beat TF3 and Avengers urban destruction amount"). How are they going to top that when Darkseid shows up? It seems like the climax of a third movie with the biggest and baddest threat in town that Superman would ever faced. Audience will get jaded fast and desensitized by then.

They don't need more destruction porn. Just make Lex Luther so annoying and so frustating for Superman that it tests his NEW no kill rule ESPECIALLY a human. Just like the Joker, a man who will test Superman's psychologically to the limits, frustrate him, make him mad that he cannot use his superhuman powers to defeat him rather he needs his humanity and more and in the end give a great ending to destroy lex.

I don't know. That's probably it. But I've never been a fan of mindless action films and although MOS definitely wasn't mindless, there were some parts that just seemed like "insert action scene here." And it got to the point where the action scenes were going on forever.

They were constantly punching each other through buildings. Over and over.

It's not mindless. It TRIES to be deep, but it fails.

Luthor is lame, especially compared to the Joker.

Yeah, a psychological fight between Luthor and Superman challenging him with intellect and gusto but if the action doesn't top the MoS disaster porn, general audience will inevitably feel a letdown.(Let's be honest, most people came in drove from the early word that the showdowns were more impressive than any comic books movies ever, not the drama and origin story everybody already know)

The anti-Lindelof sentiment certainly is overdone. Prometheus isn't bad and Lost is a classic series.

Lindelof:

Gave the worst possible copout endings to one of the greatest tv series.

Cowboys & Aliens ...lol

Prometheus, one of the worst Ridley Scott and Alien (s) movies ever

Star Trek Into Darkness... a rehash of the Original with a white guy as

Khan

But that's how they were supposed to fight right? It would be weird if Supes fought with a gun, staff or a magic wand.
