For a heavily-hyped sleeper hit (is that contradiction in terms?), it actually kinda disappoints me...

It'll open better than IT, it's the multiplier that needs to be better in order for it to hit140

DM2 is going to be gargantuan. I saw it in the UK yesterday and despite not quite liking it as much as the first it's a great movie; beautifully animated and very funny. I'm thinking $300 million plus. Getting Shrek 2 vibes from it in terms of audience affection for the original.

A few of us have it winning the summer.  Care to join?

Sony has had their good years before. They will bounce back.

Figures are misleading.

Sony didn't make much from Skyfall, they don't own Bond, never have, never will.

And they lost Spidey's rights outside of films to Disney so Spidey isn't the cashcow it used to be.

Sat looking likeMU 17.2,TH 14.3,WWZ 11.6, WHD 9.2, MOS 8.4,TITE 3.2, NYSM 2.2,FF6 1,STID 725k,IM3 630k,

Solid numbers all around. Wanted a bigger jump for MU but its still doing great business so I can't complain :DWWZ is looking good ..still. And MoS finally has a good weekend. Just hoping WHD can develop some decent legs. Saw it last night and it was a fun summer popcorn flick.Last but not least NYSM  still having a great run.

But that chart from BoM is strictly domestic box office gross, not revenue for the studio, so yes Sony is having a terrible year.
