Entertainment Weekly's 100 Greatest Films of All Time

Off the top of my head, they have THE STAND. Can't remember if any other King stuff made it on there.

Yea, that makes sense.  The Stand is considered his best book but I am in love with IT, by far (not even close for me) the best book I have ever read.

And there goes all credibility for the list.

I'm not trying to hate on Potter but I agree with this 100%.  The first book is really average imo.  There's just not much to it.

Presumably tradition and influence carry significant value on the list (above and beyond "critical reception", whatever that means). To not have LOTR on it, when it basically *invented* the whole freaking "historical fantasy" genre, while including works within that genre of vastly lesser influence, is absurd.

The top half of the list reads more like a "highly regarded older films that make us seem like intelligent film buffs" ranking than a ranking of movies people actually enjoy in this day and age, though they did nail SOME classics. It's not my favorite list in the world.

Zeppelin has always been underrated with critics relative to their popularity and influence on other musicians. It's sad too because it's not like they're KISS where it's a popular band with very little musical talent. In terms of musicianship, Zeppelin is arguably the most talented foursome in the history of rock and roll.

Beatles?

Seriously though, unless my eyes are going and I'm missing them, no Terminator 2, no Jurassic Park, no Exorcist, and no a New Hope?

Agreed. They put down Rosemary's Baby but not The Exorcist?

Also ashamed that My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West is number 8 on the greatest albums list. It's a great album, but there are far better albums than that. Meanwhile, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon sits at 37. Kanye West has a better album than Pink Floyd? The Notorious B.I.G. has a better album than Pink Floyd (Ready to Die was 31)? Gimme a freaking break.

Led Zeppelin is a great band, but The Beatles were far more influential musicians than Led Zeppelin.

The Beatles were more influential because they came first and they did a lot of experimentation, but they were not more talented musicians. Ringo couldn't drum as well as Bonham, Paul couldn't play the bass as well as Jones, Paul and John couldn't possibly hit the notes that Plant did with his voice, and no way in hell was George capable of the kind of guitar work that Page came up with.
