if you went solely by internet metrics then Top Gun Maverick shouldn’t have made anywhere close to what it did and way below Doctor Strange 2 and Thor 4 and maybe even others

 

 

now obviously IJ5 won’t be anywhere successful as Maverick but 200m worldwide is silly. Indiana Jones movies are some of the 80s movies that have appealed to future generations

Weird comparison I know.. but this reminds me greatly of when Halloween Kills premiered 1.5 months in advance in Venice.

 

Universal and Blumhouse were so confident in it and they ended up having to deal with mixed reviews in their promotional run.

500M WW is guranteed. No questions.  But it will have to fight the bad reviews and the bad reception of the previous one
