thunder storm
I want to win Happy, but probably will win Ordinary Love.
Leyla
Id love if any of the 3 won - U2, Karen or Pharrell but it 100% to be frozen song no doubt
senmitsuji
Lana Del Rey was the biggest snub. Young and Beautiful is by far the best soundtrack of this year.
portgas
I hope Frozen wins the oscar for Let It Go. By far the most powerful song.
FrozenUnicorn
I hope Frozen wins the oscar for Let It Go. By far the most powerful song. I agreed 100%. I have no idea how the HAY "Ordinary Love" won the Golden Globe (either because U2's a contempoirary band, sympathy vote because the guy died, or because the GG people are elitists who don't know a good and powerful song when they hear it. Or all 3). I REALLY hope "Let It Go" wins the Oscar, it deserves to more than any other (same with Frozen for Best Animated Feature). I mean, look at the views, the covers, the renditions, the animation, the message, the vocals, the pure raw inspiration that comes out of that song! You don't get that kind of thing with any of the other nominations—if there's anything that deserves to take home the Oscar for Best Original Song, it's "Let It Go", no question.
Blankments
As a Frozen fan, I definitely want "Let It Go" to win. That said, I wouldn't mind "The Moon Song," it perfectly epitomizes the mixture of joy and melancholy of that movie
Dementeleus
@GuyLodge Rumour has it 'Alone Yet Not Alone' may be disqualified from the Oscar race. Tens of fans are going to be up in arms. 1/29/14, 3:00 PM
CoolioD1
Yep, It's officially been shit-canned from the list http://www.indiewire.com/article/oscars-rescind-controversial-song-nomination-for-alone-yet-not-alone lmfao.
Fancyarcher
I always wondered why that song was nominated when clearly nobody had seen the film at the time. Edited January 30, 2014 by Fancyarcher
riczhang
Disqualified. No replacement nominee though. Imagine if Young and Beautiful didn't even come in 6th? That'd be simultaneously hilarious and really sad.
CoolioD1
There really should be a replacement nominee. They've done that before.Though maybe the 6th place nominee was Coldplay and the Academy rightfully decided that no one wants to live in a world where Coldplay are Oscar nominees.
BoxOfficeFangrl
I see why they didn't name a replacement...everyone would already know it couldn't even get more votes than some song nobody had ever really heard of before. If it's a big name act (Swift/Del Rey/Coldplay), it would be kind of embarrassing to only make it into the category because of a DQ.
