Chewy
One of my favorite things ever is when Trekkies were harassing Orci online and he dropped the ol' "I'm important, I'm friends with Harrison Ford"

Elessar
This looks like a dumb side adventure. I wish there would be people at Paramount like Kathleen Kennedy, people who really care about the franchises they own and want to do good on them. Instead we have some clueless executives who are just out for the quick buck, turning Star Trek into a generic summer action / funny movie to appeal to the young crowd. Oh, well... I know, there were folk who said the exact same things about JJ's movies but at least i felt there was some balance there, whereas this looks like it's crossing the line for me personally. It looks so insignificant, like fluff. It might still be entertaining in the see-and-immediately-forget-afterwards kind of way but i want more out of Star Trek (again, JJ's Treks also came kinda short but... see above). grey ghost
I doubt Paramount cares about Trekkies all that much. They want to make this a big franchise overseas. That means more explosions and one liners. So far it's working.
Bigausorus
Horrible music and awful trailer. This is not Star Trek!

Criticisms sank in deeper as time went on. Ones which the filmmakers acknowledged. The reviews were still positive. The film didn't even have bad legs, considering its underwhelming opening weekend. I actually STID was fine, I'm just saying. Edited December 14, 2015 by Daniel Dylan Davis
filmscholar
JJ is a big Beastie Boys fan, so if he "HAD" to use a song, this one would of fit better, lol.

Elessar
People expect different things out of different properties. It's really not odd, like at all. Not to mention that i would never pay a dime to see Turtles.
