Jonwo
Edgar Wright would be great, I wonder if Orci decided to step down when he realises it couldn't handle a film of this scale. I don't imagine this will affect the films schedule as its yet to be given a release date
Chewy
Orci directing this was a bad idea? Who knew? Maybe he'll direct that Power Rangers movie now

Irastev
A Christmas present from Paramount. Now it doesn't have to be awkward between me and Mr Irastev when he wants to see it in cinema.
Mojoguy
Sucks to be Roberto Orci right now!
Mojoguy
Edgar Wright would get me interested in this again Why? Edgar Wright would just keep this movie in development hell for 10 years, and quit as director right before filming starts.
Mojoguy
Will Trek XIII make the 2016 release date? Are they still scrambling for that all important 50th anniversary of TOS?

Gazz
Edgar Wright is a good choice. He has directed Star Trek before, after all. Wonder if Joe Cornish would be interested again.
Jonwo
Will Trek XIII make the 2016 release date? Are they still scrambling for that all important 50th anniversary of TOS? It hasn't been given a release date but I imagine they'll be able to make it. The script and location have already been approved so I imagine once a director is locked in, they'll announce a release it. I think it's between May 20th, July 8th or November 11th for ST3, I think a November release would be best as it allow Paramount to plug the 50th Anniversary and the film throughout the year and they could release the final trailer or special footage on the anniversary itself.

darkelf
I doubt Wright will take it, they'll probably get a yes-man to get it done for a 2016 release and it's gonna suck. But at least it's gonna be a step up from Orci.

But at least it's gonna be a step up from Orci. So Peyton Reed is going to direct this after Ant-Man.
