Dementeleus
I rate both around the same. STID is more enjoyable and has better acting all around, but goddamn I get so annoyed by how much it apes Wrath of Khan instead of telling its own unique Khan story. And that fucking cheating scene with Future Spock infodumpingTruth, my friend. Truth.

MovieMan89
Isn't STID the most hated Trek film ever among Trekkies? Thought I saw that online somewhere not too long ago.
Blankments
My god, I missed a lot. The Hobbit will be in 3rd place for the holidays. Mark my words. You missed all my puns in the other thread

The Panda
Maybe we're being too quick to judge DoS since we haven't even seen it, but I'm inclined to agree.Yeah, I mean having low expectations will probably be good because then it can only surprise me. The only ST film worse than The One With Old Uhura Featherdancing is The One With Tom Hardy

Thought I saw that online somewhere not too long ago.It was voted thusly at the Vegas convention, which just goes to show how myopically idiotic the collective diehard Trek fan base is (and I say that as someone who's mostly a diehard).

MovieMan89
I'm a Trekkie and I thought it was great... Yeah I meant generally speaking. Thought they took some poll among die hard Trekkies and it got by far the lowest marks. Could have just been the sample taken from though.

I don't know about Lone Ranger but the Wolverine Bullet Train sequence is the best action scene of 2013 to date.
Biggestgeekever
If it is it is sad. The only ST film worse than The One With Old Uhura Featherdancing is The One With Tom Hardy They're probably worse movies, but I'd watch both of those before the 17 hour long first film. Claire of Themyscira
Heck, I was more engaged by STID than CF. (Well, not entirely, but it's closer than you'd think!)
