Wolf rules international on $36m

Red Granite’s dark comedy dominated the international arena for a second consecutive session as an estimated $36m boosted the running total to $85m.

The global tally for The Wolf Of Wall Street including the North American haul throgh Paramount stands at $183m.

 

The dark comedy ranked number one in Germany as $5.7m from 597 boosted the tally to $14.3m.

Wolf stayed top in the UK too, as $5.5m from 500 elevated the score to $17.4m. It also stayed top in Spain on $3.2m from 287 for $8.2m after two weekends

The Wolf of Wall Street became the highest grossing Martin Scorsese film in Germany and the United Kingdom after holding on to yet another #1 weekend finish in both markets. after holding on to the #1 spot Germany registered a $4.7 million hold from 623 dates for an 18-day cume of $20.1 million. The U.K. posted a $4.2 million hold from 502 dates for a 17-day total of $24.7 million.The Wolf of Wall Street finished as the #2 film on the market over its third weekend in Spain, falling short of surpassing the opening weekend of American Hustle with a $2.4 million hold from 280 dates. The Wolf of Wall Street has grossed a total of $11.4 million in Spain after 17 days in release.  

New releases for The Wolf of Wall Street include a $1.5 million bow from 115 screens in Japan and a $940k debut at 72 dates in Norway.

The Wolf Of Wall Street has reached $160m through Red Granite International licensees and a bucket of markets through Universal and Paramount.
Martin Scorsese’s dark comedy starring Leo DiCaprio has raced to $24.2m in the UK after three weeks through Universal and has become the lead market, edging ahead of France on $24.3m after six through Metropolitan.

The dark comedy ranks number two in Germany as $3.1m from 538 raised the running total to $24.1m and third in the UK where $2.8m from 477 elevated the tally to $29.4m. It ranks as the third highest R-rated film of all time in both markets. Wolf places second in Spain on $1.4m from 279 for $12.9m. The film has reached $3.9m after two weekends in Japan through Paramount Pictures International (PPI) and remains top.
