Morieris
Is Minecraft still popular. Can't wait for the Fortnite movie in 2030.

According to an article I read back in October, the game still has more than 90 million monthly active players, and the player base actually grew by 20 million last year. I don't know how that will equate to viewership in the box office, but that's a huge number of players I think. It sounds popular enough to me. I have no idea how many players will still be playing in 2022, though. BadOlCatSylvester
Sounds to me like Uncharted and Sonic 2 are opening the floodgates for a whole new wave of video game movies akin to what The Lego Movie did for toy movies. Of course, most of those Lego wannabes were either never made or released too late and all bombed, so I'm going to wait for a while longer until I get excited for a Minecraft movie. While the article is paywalled, what is free to read seems to imply that the Napoleon Dynamite/Nacho Libre guy is helming this now. That has me intrigued.
