The power of school holidays. Every state was off last week. 

 

It won't hit $60m.  I'm guessing it will drop about 20-30% this weekend and then around 40% or more the following weekend. 

 

Ghostbusters takes theatre space this weekend, the week after Star Trek and the week after that is Bourne.

Well, Dory has almost made up the ground it lost on the first and 2nd weekends of shrek 2.  As it stands Dory is now catching Shrek 2.  I'm expecting around 3m 5th weekend based upon the TS3 numbers.  (if you don't know, the TS3 release date lines up with the 2nd weekend of Dory.  From this point with a slightly higher weekend, TS3 went on to make a further 12m from this point.  I think Dory should be able to go close to matching that and reach 50m as a result.

Just show by comparison how disappointing Ice Age 5's run is here....... take a look at the comparison to the previous entries.  it's currently the 2nd lowest of the franchise at the same point and this is a result of the previews. the weekends themselves are much weaker than even the first film. I'm thinking a sub 15m finish at this point (around 13m if i'm correct)
