7.5m is a fantastic 2nd weekend for dory... i'll do up a animation showdown soon... (especially against TS3 which had a similar release date)

not great for Id4 2, especially when you consider the first film opened to over 7m here... yeah i have agree this wasn't marketed well here...

as for warcraft... lol, that is an epic drop i think if it's barely over 1m....  That's like 70%.  When was the last time we had a drop like that ?

That's not as bad as I was expecting.  Relatively better then Domestic.  I saw ID4 2 Friday night at Miranda and it was less then 50% full in the VMAX.

That 2nd weekend Warcraft drop is massive.

Biggest Animated Openers

Well this already tells an interesting tale.  Against Shrek 2, Dory currently trails by 5m thanks to the much larger opening.  Given release dates this should indicated a total sub 50m at this point (in fact I think it's pointing to a total above 45m but it's hard to calculate given dory already help better) HOWEVER, I am comparing to Toy Story 3, as Toy Story 3's Opening weekend is the same weekend compared to Dory's second weekend when comparing to where the holidays fall in the calendar.  Dory made essentially the same as Toy Story 3 over the same weekend right before the winter holidays.  TS3 managed a further 35m from this point which puts Dory at 55m.  I doubt Dory can match TS3 dollar for dollar from here but 50m doesn't seem so hard when you look at this way.  I see dory's range already in the 45m to 55m range hence 50m is the target right now.  Let's see how this plays out.

EDIT - FYI - if you are wondering why Nemo dropped >25% week 2 & 3 but then was almost flat Weeks 3 - 6 was because Weeks 3 - 6 fell on the september holidays.  makes comparisons hard since Weeks 2 - 5 will be Dory's holidays (TS3 was Weeks 1 - 4)
