Good opening for Crawdads, reasonable for The Black Phone. Minions and Thor both a weekend away from crossing 40m, which will make three this year so far. Top Gun Maverick also one weekend away from clearing Avengers Endgame for all time number three.

Not much opening next week (although I want to see both Press Play and The Forgiven), then Bullet Train next next week and Nope the after that.

I was at Liverpool just then seeing Press Play (fine, could’ve used another draft) and found out that screens 1-4 are being chucked! I saw that they had blocked off that section and was hoping for the best, an upgrade maybe to Gold Class, but apparently that’s not to be.

All the same, that cinema is terminally stuck in 1995, or whatever year it opened. It’s desperate for at least a refurbishment. Here’s hoping that with the less rent they’re about to pay there’s some movement on that front. When there’s three nearby cinemas that are by contrast just wonderful to visit, is it any surprise that they’re seeing less attendance?

How many screens does that leave them with?

You're absolutely right though. Liverpool definitely needs an upgrade 😬
