T1 -> T2 is totally useless. Not saying it was a flop but T1 was a little movie that only really gained traction on home video.

A totally different constellation than with Avatar.

The Terminator opened in 1121 and Terminator 2: Judgment Day opened too 2,495 cinemas. From this we can deduce difference in constellation power and use it to effect the T2 with Avatar estimation giving a 45% drop from the 18b. Giving a predicted total of 8.1b. I would say this estimation is more valid than the Alien to Aliens one because Alien isn't a Jim film.

You guys are so concentrated on scoring points with each other, but using nonsensical data doesn't do anything except point out the absurdities of your position.

At least someone is using data, even if it is speculative. It's superior to the hyperbole and feelings that a lot of the other posts seem to be basing their predictions on.

What is $18 billion if not hyperbole? :P

I want it to be the best and biggest movie ever. But let's be real here. ;)

It's the same damn thing, they're just selectively citing trends and data that appears to back up their hyperbole and feelings

You guys need to know sarcasm lol.  Or he might mean all 4 movies gross and total revenue .  Avatar saga will definitely make over 20b be between bo, merchandising . Which is pound for pound bigger than sws and Pokemon.   No 40 years or in the case of Pokemon 15 years needed to generate 25b to over 30b  be for fox in comparison.  James achieved quite a milestone here.

The 4 Avatar Films will make more than Speilbergs entire filmography combined. Considering Avatar 2 will make 18b and all :>

But, even if it were to happen (which I don't think it will) why talk as though it already did?
