So what was the deal with The Muppets having some sort of liberal political slant/agenda? MSNBC spent a ton of time talking about the villain being some evil "big oil" guy and this big discussion was a response to some comment on Fox News? The odd thing was the original comment on Fox couldn't have taken 1/10th of the time this long discussion on MNSBC did. Who the heck wants politics with the Muppets? I haven't seen the movie (just can't get past the wrong voices), so I have no clue what's going on. But if you have Fox saying it's biased and that's bad and MSNBC says it's biased and that's great, I can see why the pool of moviegoers is smaller.

The "big oil" guy is just a caricature, no different from any other "evil suit" character you'd see on a Nickelodeon cartoon. It's all a bunch of BS.

What's the big deal with BD1 not passing 300m? It's doing well for a fourth installment and the first part of a two parter. It seems more people are concerned with this not passing 300m than DH1 last year

This is a BO forum. Passing major landmarks is a big deal, for every film.

Yea, but the only one's making a big deal about it is us. I don't think it was realistic to have it go past 300 mill. I can't recall a fourth film in a series being the biggest film of the four films, especially when there is one more part to come. And Indy doesn't count as it came out 20 years after the original.

Blame the studios.Releasing 3 family movies on Thanksgiving weekend, and then following up with these two movies is a complete joke. What is out right now that is really enticing people to go to the movies? As I've been saying, the slump is the studios' fault. They keep releasing pure shit and audiences will continue to stay away.

The films coming out this holiday season have really produced a lot of ho hum buzz. Alvin will probably do well because the first two were loved by kids. But SH2, it just seems like a prime candidate to drop. I know it's just me but i really don't get the appeal of the first. I think this holiday season might really be soft.

+1 Wish we could like mod posts. SH was promising but there were a lot of flaws with the movie. The only holiday movie I'm looking forward to is GWTDT and even then I'm not really excited.I think this whole holiday period will be somewhat disappointing.
