It is going to do 75-80m. Less than 80 is perfectly anticipated. Anything over 70m is great for Godzilla as a start. Guys, just chill. Just because sorry Spidey can't open to 100m anymore doesn't mean that the summer is doomed. X-Men and TF will clear 100m and Dragon 2 is a long shot as well. For many years, this theater would screw everyone by putting 3D on the biggest screens and sticking 2D on a tiny screen. Got completely screwed when I saw Avengers in 2D on opening night. The theater got bought by Regal right around the time IM3 came out last year, then they put in the RPX and LieMAX screens for Catching Fire. I decided to give it a try with Cap 2 and was impressed. They charge $10 for 2D night shows even on a regular screen, so I felt $13 might be worth the upgrade. It definitely was. Good sized screen, probably 60 feet wide. Great surround sound. My local theaters seem pretty good about mixing the 2D with the 3D. Of course, neither RPX or LieMAX are local, but I do have other options for big: Cinerama and the real IMAX at the Pacific Science Center. The former of which will play 2D versions, but only on Tuesdays. I kinda hope the local Regal gets an upgrade to RPX and Atmos at some point, but it's a downtown building so there may not be much possibility for renovation. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MAY 9 A note on this: After the overwhelming popularity of this last week, I decided I'm gonna make this a thing that I do weekly, solely depending on likes I get for each trailer. There's a certain number I need before I do one for the following week, but then I'll write one up. That said, I've already decided I'm posting one next week because it's Godzilla, and that trailer is truly awesome. Both are in the top 5 metropolitan areas population-wise. Probably won't have an effect on the official numbers that come out tomorrow, but am just letting people know.
