asm2 is close behind. it looks to fall short of 205m. will join godzilla as the only other 90m+ opener to do that.

before asm2 and godzilla, x3 was the lowest grosser with 90m+ ow.

Why do I have the feeling that by year's end, you'll have declared, upon rewatch, that Godzilla is one of the best, most tense monster movies ever, 9/10?

If that number for DOFP holds, I will be happy. Decent numbers all around. Maleficent is showing that it was a little front loaded friday, should be interesting to see how it holds up in the coming weeks.

It might fall short of $205 but I think ASM2 will get past $200m.  I don't see Sony letting that happen.
