Aplandg
I thought it was announced in 3D also. And this looks very different than the book. Kind of disappointed. They basically changed the plot and motivations.
DAJK
Insurgent didn't increase OS or domestically despite the first not having bad legs, and the 3D. Sure the buzz wasn't as big this time around, but I don't want to be too disappointed when the film does "only" 400WW. As for the budget, the trailer showcases some (probably expensive) effects. And it would be only natural for the budget to increase after the first was such a hit.
antovolk
Nope, no IMAX or 3D, some outlets just assumed it would be but there has been nothing from FOX on that.

Kalderic
Maybe the author is making some good changes. I havent read the books so I cant really say much about it, but if the author is really involved, then I cant imagine it being a complete disaster... ala Eragon. lol
antovolk
The author is heavily involved with the movie, so I don't see why the fans are complaining. Because it's still different from the book I guess. Mind you I haven't read it and for me better movie that's less faithful > mediocre/crap movie that's uber faithful.

water
i get that imax releases can be hard to secure, but really no 3d from an entire studio's major movies? mess
bcf26
I liked that trailer. This will probably increase both dom and overseas without the help of 3D. Hopefully, it won't be in 3D.

2spooky4u
http://www.thewrap.com/dylan-obriens-the-maze-runner-scorch-trials-trailer-garners-12-million-views-in-first-24-hours/ Interest in YA franchise sequel “The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials” is way up over the original film led by Dylan O’Brien, judging by statistics comparing the performances of the two trailers. The first trailer for “Scorch Trials” brings back O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong Lee and the rest of the Gladers, and logged over 12 million views in its first 24 hours online. That number represents a twelvefold increase over the number of people who viewed the first “Maze Runner” trailer in 2013. Social media awareness of the sequel is also up, with “Scorch Trials” receiving 158,000 mentions in the first 24 hours of the trailer release, which is up 232 percent from the same period after the first film’s trailer release. DAJK
With that kind of numbers this movie has potential to do 600+ million worldwide I doubt that high, but 400 could (should) happen.

The Futurist
The first Maze Runner sold as many tickets as Catching Fire and Mockingjay Part I in France, about 3m.
