Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows | June 3, 2016 | IMAX release confirmed

The 8-year-old Stingray would dig the hell out of this.

I was never a big fan of the original movies (tho I do remember thinking that Super Shredder looked cool as fuck), however I did adore the animated show. Got up early every Saturday and Sunday morning to watch it, Duck Tales and The Real Ghostbusters. I also enjoyed the shit out of the Turtles in Time video game for Super Nintendo. Fucking good times!

Turtles in Time might be my favorite video game ever. Goldeneye and MK 2 and 3 are up there too.

This time it is clearly not a Transformer :P

The Shredder retcon using 2 additional scenes filmed with an actor in shadows + ADR work to make the robot Shredder machine "talk" may have been the best example of making chicken salad from chicken shit. That one change literally stopped all "nerd-rage" online and meant that they didn't actually have to commit to that version of Shredder thanks to one close-up shot of the mutagen being used by Shredder once he was defeated.

How TMNT was saved by reshoots and smart editing is probably worth being studied by other studios with troubled films. You can see the seams clearly but it holds the whole thing together just well enough.

Saved in what way? Because as far as I can tell the film is still garbage

It saved the movie from an immediate online backlash and also from accusations of white washing and more importantly left everything open for a sequel. Garbage movies don't do a 3 multiplier, As much as the internet seems to hate TMNT, it actually was one of the more leggier hits of 2014. So the audience clearly enjoyed it for sure. I liked it, won't go out of my way to rewatch it but it definitely did justice to the Turtles dynamic.
